I posted my resume online and immediately got called by travel agencies willing to send me to Arizona and New Mexico. Problem is that I don't want to go anywhere.
avoid az if you want to keep your license!

what do you mean?
and there are no jobs here in az. there are plenty of postings for experienced nurses, but even experienced nurses i know can't get into these jobs.

Pretty sure people are going to laugh anyone who says California needs nurses right off the board. Can you give examples of towns/hospitals who are snatching up new grads like mad?

If you do a google search for critical access hospitals I would almost guarantee that 80% of these hospitals need nurses desperatlely.
the CAH's in az also want at least 2 years experience, and have very few openings. unfortunately just the phoenix area pumps out about 800 new grads each semester.
Wow that is crazy. The market is so oversaturated hospitals can pretty much just take their pick. I still think the OP would have better chances with critical access, especially in the south. (Alabama, Mississippi, Texas)

Check out the Kentucky Board of Nursing publication. I received it in the mail last week and there were several ads for nursing jobs in the state.

Might it be safe to assume that ALL hospitals are short staffed and need nurses, but they are that way by CHOICE! Good luck getting a foot in the door.

thanks to everyone for your input. I really don't know what to think about if nurses can find jobs or not. I read many many threads that say they are having a heck of a time finding ANY job. Then I read "so and so location" needs nurses and they will hire new grads.
I should say I am currently working as a LPN. I think of going on for my RN , but
if there isn't going to be job for me why bother?
