hello there, i have been reading this thread all over, my sister referred me this thread to help me, since i also have the same situation. (but differently, i am already american citizen). i called yesterday opnysed to file 4 a licensure application in w/c they're gonna email me the form.

I'm thinking, after I filled up the app. form,(before sending it to them) what do you personally prefer to take as my next step? (i know about the 6-8mos. duration of the CVS but im going to make this as fast as possible >

I'm sorry for so many questions,but i just moved here in NY last October,and i'm new to this since i just graduated this year, i just want to make things go in order (i'm quite the detailed person and also wants to avoid such problems as possible) i hope u understand, thanks for those who will reply!!u will be of greatest help :)

CVS can be done either online or you can download the forms and complete them to send. If you do it online make sure all information is correct as mistakes can only be rectified by post.

Do not register with Pearsonvue until you have the go ahead from the BON

Yes you do. It can be done easily online. There are some links on the previous posts you can use. And after taking the online course, there will be a test that will determine you understand what you just have read. Then after passing it, you can now print your certificate. It's just easy to complete. :)

Anyway, regarding my CVS application, I received NOTICE OF COMPLETE APPLICATION last Aug. 3 2010. And last Jan 13 2011, my order status is now READY FOR FINAL REVIEW. I don't know how long will it take for them to issue a report to NYBON. So, I guess I can't call NYBON yet right?

Can I take IELTS while waiting for my eligibility to sit for the exam? I know that if I wanted to work here I would need to complete VisaScreen but how about Certification Program? Do I have to take it as well? Sorry, I really am confused about these things. I am already here in NY under dependent visa.

If you require a employer in your own right then you will need visa screen cert. You do not need Certification program as that is the CGFNS exam and only a small handful of states require that now

i just came across this thread. i noticed it started back in 2008, and there was mention of retrogression.. is it still that bad there or things are better. thanks. :nurse:

Retrogression is still in progress and probably will be for a few more years or longer..... Really no one knows how long it will last however there are currently many US nurses both newly qualified and experienced looking for work

i am registering for nclex, im already eligible to sit the nclex examination but there is this one question about education program code, since i graduated in philippines, i dont know what to put, and it is a required field. what should i do? thanks!

Yes. And I already took my NCLEX last April 2011 and passed.

Oh thats great! Congratulations! :up: I have a couple of questions.. i hope you can help me. my current status is READY FOR FINAL REVIEW, CGFNS just changed it yesterday. Can you remember how long it took for them to do your final review? and what will be the next step, is it READY FOR SUBMISSION? Thanks in advance!
