I hopefully am about to begin an lpn course and wanted to know what is the average starting wage for a lpn who just graduated. stats i read say 18 dollars and hour, and i wanted to know if that is accurate. i live in NWI, and i think nurses make less here anyway. i love the nursing field having been a cna and didnt know whether to choose lpn or surgical technologist, i liked both and was going to pick which ever made more. help!
Well first of all I am from Arkansas, Our hospital starts out 2 year nurses @ $10.87. I am really disharted to have a college certificate and still quailify ( if I applied) for welfare and foodstamps and subsidized housing. Where is the justification in this??? Is this just a horriable paying hospital or all NWarkansas hospitls this pitiful? I am just having a bad pay period LOL I love what I do but my kids love to eat.
My goodness...medical assistants get that amount of pay here in New York. Again, I am surprized of the salaries in other states. I had a friend that is an RN that applied somewhere in Virginia about 5 years ago, and she told me that they offered her about $16-$17 per hour. Not worth it for all of the stress nursing school puts you under.
Im a New LVN Grad. I just got my license... and now im working at a nursing home. they pay me $22/hr..... but i know the min wage they pay is about $18/hr... the DON told me that i have gud experiences as a CNA.... i think that's why she gave me $22... with a $3500 sign-on bonus.... the $22 was actually the per diem pay rate no benefits. but since i wanted benefits, she recommended me to per diem first and later during the orientation i could ask the lady that i wanted the benefits.. so i will be getting my benefits and keep the per diem pay rate anyway... that was really nice of her to do that...
the hospital i workd at as a CNA was around $18/hr in the AM 12hr shift with $3500 sign on bonus.... a night differential of $4 with a sign-on bonus of $5000 for the PM 12hr shift..... i was gonna work for this hospital and work the pm 12hr shift...... but i didnt wanna deprive myself with sleep... the only difference wud be the $2000 from the sign on bonus in the hospital and still get paid $22/hr for pm 12hr shift.....
im happy i found the job that accomodate my skedule, i work the 3-11 shift.... i go to skool in the morning taking 10 units at a community college....
Wow, i am reading through these and am sooo surprised by the wages you guys are posting! I worked at a retail store as an assistant manager here in Washington state with no high school diploma and made $12 an hour. I cant believe some LPN's out there are making $10 an hr, thats barely higher than our minimum wage here! A woman i know works as an LPN here at a jail and makes $25 an hour starting out.
These posts were first generated several years ago, so the salary information is not exactly up to date. To keep this from happening in the future, it is a good idea to check the dates of the posts when searching the forums before you respond to outdated info.Wow, i am reading through these and am sooo surprised by the wages you guys are posting!
