Salary seems to be a fuzzy topic when it comes to new grads, the students in my cohort all have different expectations. We were wondering what all of you at allnurses would have to say. Hopefully, you are comfortable to share your starting salary.
If you have started as a new grad in the last 4 years, please reply with the city/state/department/ADN or BSN and hourly rate.
We are hoping it will be beneficial to know what to expect vs getting sticker shock! Thank you allnurses!

It will tell you the earnings of ANY University of California employee. If you don't know an employee name look by job title.
Btw Physicians = PHYSCN.
Most RNs are clinical nurse 2 (I think??).
It looks as though most full time nurses are nearing 100K. A RN friend of mine is at 132K.
It's fun to look up people. At the same time it's kind of crazy that you can look at (again) ANYone's salary at a UC (any campus, student employees are excluded).
You can very clearly see the pay difference amongst Northern, Bay Area, Southern California RN salaries.
What's interesting to me is that RNs make nearly as much as NPs, PAs, and even starting family and internal medicine doctors. I was told by a UCD resident that many doctors go to private hospitals after residency because it double the income. I've heard conflicting information about how UC RN salaries compare to other hospitals in my area (Northern CA)...
How about those living in CA, how much is the starting salary for new grads. These seem little compared to what I thought it was.
It absolutely irks me when people ask for and give salary ranges for "California" because there is a HUGE difference between Northern and Southern California in wages. I wish everyone who answers California would specify NorCal or SoCal at the very least even if they don't necessarily differentiate between let's say the Bay Area and Sacramento or Los Angeles and San Diego. Thank you mania4real for clarifying in your next post that you're looking for LA wages. Anyway, I digress.
New grad wages in the LA area generally range from $25 to about $40 base hourly depending on the facility and setting. However, keep in mind that the bottom and top of that range are outliers and the median tends to run between $32 and $35 per hour. Differentials also make a huge difference.

home health $36/hr... limited hours.
Dialysis. $28/hr. Full time. Only doing this now.
It seems the salaries go up if you aren't in a hospital and specialize.
