Starting Salary [new grad]?

Published

Salary seems to be a fuzzy topic when it comes to new grads, the students in my cohort all have different expectations. We were wondering what all of you at allnurses would have to say. Hopefully, you are comfortable to share your starting salary.

If you have started as a new grad in the last 4 years, please reply with the city/state/department/ADN or BSN and hourly rate.

We are hoping it will be beneficial to know what to expect vs getting sticker shock! Thank you allnurses!

Hi, I am currently working as Lpn making $23.63 with a company in Atlanta Georgia, I recently graduated with my RN reviewing for boards, it's real scary on what some states and companies are starting RN grads off with, when I know people who were trained on their jobs, example a very popular paint company and they make more than me and RN grads etc, and I also know people who has jobs right now, just checking people in when they arrived at their clinic appointment making $18, 20, or more, what is going on here, I am not saying their jobs are not of value, but we require a degree to enjoy what we love, anyone has any reflection on this, I am a very positive person and believe me if it was all about the money I would have stayed into computers and administration, but I love taking care of people this is my ministry, but I still feel that nurses should be compensated fairly and justifiable. ..and yes whatever we get is a blessing because we could be making minimum wage, we are in a better situation, just want to make sure nurses get what they deserve, with great benefits. .we are truly angels...
