Hi,
I am a new RN. I have been to orientation at the hospital where I am working, and I met a lot of people. However, none of these will be working with me. I am the only new RN on this floor. I haven't met my preceptor yet. I am basically nervous about how they will treat me. I guess I am just used to being treated like a student...........but I want so much for my preceptor to be a good one!!!!!
I am just nervous to walk in at 6:30 in the morning, meet a bunch of new people, and then immediately start working with them.
Help!

That is usually the way it is starting at any hospital on the floor. You will meet many people tomorrow and hit the floor running. Good luck!

I remember that feeling 6 years ago. Hang in there, and just do your best. It will be ok. Deep breathe now.

JuicyJem...........I hope you get a preceptor like the ones I have always had when starting at new hospitals. I have had really terrific preceptors. May your preceptor be a nurse who really likes to teach and mentor new nurses. Best of everything to you on your new job, and congratulations to you on your nursing successes.

Remember your first day of clinical in nursing school? Remember the jitters? Remember how afraid of the attitude of the nurses you were? Well, this is not that different. Just remember to be yourself, try to relax, and smile alot. It will be ok. You made it this far, you will do fine.
It turned out to be great. Now I'm worn out............gotta work another 12 tomorrow.
Thanks to all,
Glad to know everything went well! Congrats!!
