I am a new RN. I have been to orientation at the hospital where I am working, and I met a lot of people. However, none of these will be working with me. I am the only new RN on this floor. I haven't met my preceptor yet. I am basically nervous about how they will treat me. I guess I am just used to being treated like a student...........but I want so much for my preceptor to be a good one!!!!!
I am just nervous to walk in at 6:30 in the morning, meet a bunch of new people, and then immediately start working with them.
I am glad that you had a good first day. Most of the time we sail even though we worry ourselves silly that it will be very difficult. Hope you love the new job and are happy. Maybe someday you too will be a preceptor so always remember how this feels. Good luck to you!!:kiss :kiss
Congratulations! You will do great. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Listen to that little voice in your head and always trust your gut instinct. If your unit has a complainers try not to join in, it just drags you down.
