Started Listening to my Rice Krispies

Published

If anyone has been following my drama I have been recently suffering from a drop in GPA. Yes I'm a 4.0 - aholic and I haven't had an "A" since last semester. :banghead:

That said...my instructors think I am suffering from test anxiety. :clown: I personally think it's a brain tumor but hey, I'm not a nurse yet!

I had chest pains on a pass/fail med math test, sweaty palms and ringing in my ears for assessment...what's a guy to do?

Well I needed to bring up my average big time and this test was the one I needed to do it with...no pressure!

I flipped the test packet over and though "Oh no! What is this?" :uhoh21: It was like I was reading a different language. So I started the test and thought "There's always the ambulance".

Rice Krispies...I love 'em...love Rice Krispie Treats too! Anyone ever pay attention to that "Voice" in your head? The voice that whispers softly and gives you that warm fuzzy feeling allover... "B...the answer is B - Erythropoietin"

I read the answer options first and then the question...Before I could even think I hear "B" or "A" or "its Intrinsic Factor you idiot".

Go ahead and laugh...I closed the test and thought "Wow, I just failed nursing school with a perfect score of zero." I don't think I got the date correct.

I scored a 90. A 90 - that's NINE ZERO - Ninety percent.

The students who sit behind me said I was mumbling to myself throughout the whole exam...don't recall much other than feeling like I failed. Anyone else ever experience something like this?

The going joke now is that I eat Rice Krispies in the morning of an exam and they tell me what the test is about. Hey it worked!

Congratulations on your test score!!!!:yeah:And yes I too get that little voice and a breakfast ritual. I only eat oatmeal on test day and I have what I

call my Darth Vader voice. The force is strong in you young Skywalker.:lol2: So far it has worked for me!

Hope the rest of your term goes as well, go do the happy dance and may the force be with you!!!

Actually, looking at the answers first is not a bad test-taking technique. It's the way I usually take a test -- and I am a very good test-taker.

Sometimes, when you read the anwers first, one of the answers jumps out at you because it makes sense that the teacher would have chosen a question about that topic.

At other times it helps to read the answers first because it provides you with the list of possibilities to consider as you read the question. Sometimes that knowledge of the possible answers guides your reading of the question in a helpful way.

Regardless of HOW your test-taking methodology helped ... Congratulations of the good grade.

Mine is a Payday. Something about those peanuts....

My test breakfast of choice would have to be a glass of OJ...nothing like citrus to irritate the bladder right in the middle of a test.

I guess it works anyways, because I scored an 84 on my second to last test that I needed to make an 80 on to keep going...gotta love fruit juices high in vit-C!

Can you tell our test was over F&E, nutrition, and elimination? Did I drop enough clues?
