I couldn’t find a thread for the most recent Stanford new grad program and wanted to start a thread. If there is one already, lmk ?

Not necessarily true. I got my ACLS a week before my interview
so I also did not have it at time of application but I do think you need it to prior to interviewing in order to receive an offer. Feel free to DM me!

It seems like I'm not able to send DMs yet since my account is new (long-time lurker though). But it's good info knowing that my cert wasn't the issue... Y'all are superstars. Mad respect to those who were able to get an interview. Everyone else, let's cross our fingers we get it next time! ?

I got my official rejection letter today. I figured I wouldn’t get an interview but I’m thankful for the notification so I can move on. Congratulations on everyone who got an interview though! Would anybody be interested in DMing me what they felt like made them stand out? At the time of the application, I didn’t have my ACLS but now I do. I heard somewhere that they didn’t interview anyone without the cert since it was so competitive. Is this true?

I would look into certs that support your goals. I didn't get an interview the first time I applied either. I took an ECG course before the next app, answered the short-answer questions on the app a bit differently, and got an interview. I was offered (and accepted) a position last week.

For whoever asked for interview advice, practice as much as you can. I made a doc with all the possible questions I could be asked, and wrote out my answers. It was 31 pages long. Excessive? Maybe! But it worked for me. I practiced saying my stories in different ways over and over. Knowing my stories thoroughly allowed me to stay focused during the interview and honestly be myself. I think when you can truly show them your personality, it helps them decide if you're a fit for their unit.

I hope this helps someone for the next round! I'd also suggest joining the FB group RNInterview Tools for advice. You can also DM people easier on facebook so you can really get the advice you're looking for. Best of luck for everyone reapplying! I hear they're hiring 50 next round.

Hi, all! I'm about to apply to the Fall 2020 cohort and was wondering to whom you addressed your cover letters for the initial online application. I've searched in multiple places, and I have a couple leads but none that I'm absolutely certain about that I'd address them on my letter. Thanks for your help!

Where have you seen a new app up to apply?

The application is open now through their website:

https://stanfordhealthcare.org/health-care-professionals/nursing/professional-development/nurse-residency-program.html

Expand the "Apply to the Program" heading, and click on the hyperlink underneath that says "Click to view."

From there, search job number 56101.

(The only reason I know this is through incessant daily Google searching and Glassdoor.)

Hi, blnnca! Unfortunately, I remember the application closing sometime in the middle of March, on the 12th or 13th... Best of luck to you, though! I have been applying to places incessantly for the last month and am just crossing my fingers on the daily hoping to hear back from anyone.

Hi everyone! CONGRATS to those who got interviews and got a spot in the Stanford 2020 Summer cohort. I wanted to apply, however my nursing program ends in May, so we typically do not get our licenses until June. The application that opened up last month stated we needed to have our licenses by May, so I could not apply unfortunately! Does anyone know when the next cohort is/when applications are posted? Thanks ?

I only had certs in BLS at the time of accepting the position and just had to obtain ACLS certification about ten days prior to the start date!

Hi. Does anyone know when the applications open for the Children's hospital? I want to apply to the Labor and Delivery program, but the website still has the old dates from this Winter. I just don't want to miss the application.

This is the website I keep checking. Should I look somewhere else?

THANKS!

Hi @kaylah213, the application for the cohort that starts in September/October does not open until July/September
