St. Paul's School of Nursing - Fall 2010 Acceptance

Published

I'm curious if anybody got their acceptance letter yet?

I just recently took my entrance test - it was easy. They changed the test style. After the first test comes the HESI which I know would be more challenging. The name of the entrance test is not DET anymore. It stinks considering on the application packet it says that the test would be DET and even recommended to buy the book guide - I bought it unfortunately. Anyway, anybody applied to other nursing school aside from st.paul's?

Arg anyone waiting for their acceptance letter? What's your GPA? Are you in the morning or evening program?

I believe its 60 in the day program and 60 at night, which location did you apply to?

how long is the program?? And does anyone know the application deadline?

Does anyone know if the queens location has rolling admission? Could someone apply even in june?

I am taking the hesi exam in may I was wondering if you can use a calculator for the math????

Does anyone know if you have a withdrawal on your transcript does that look bad my gpa is still 2.9. The withdrawal was from a regular Bio class not AP or any nursing class.

just a quick question do we have to take the hesi exam or the net exam? and also what sort of material was on the first exam that they call you in for?

It's a 2-year program. I believe the deadline was March1. I'm not sure if they're still accepting applications. Call them just to be sure.

They provide a very very basic calculator (only plus, minus, etc.)

Don't worry about your W grades. It happens all the time. I have a W grade on my AP1 because my professor was a monster. If you have above 2.5 GPA they WILL consider your application. Just prove them that your GPA is nothing but just a gpa, so ACE the HESI and you'll have a very good chance of getting accepted.

HESI exam. The exam was pretty easy. It consists of vocabulary, reading comprehension, grammar, and what I hate the most mathematics. But hey I did good even without buying the review book. So I'm sure you'll do fine.

Good luck everyone. I just got accepted too.

thanks for the reply guezt. and also congratulations. also just 1 more question what topics did the first exam cover ? the exam they call you in to take prior to taking the hesi?

The first exam is a 12minutes exam that will test your IQ level. It consists of 50 questions and if I remember it correctly you only need to get 16 to qualify for the HESI. So answer as much as possible and don't spend too much time on 1 question.

No need to study. It's pretty much common sense. Random topics like math, and basic logic.

Eg: Which one of these is the largest? a)0.869 b)0.089 c)0.891

Thanks. Good luck to your exam. Don't sweat it. You'll do fine.

Thanks for your info guezt how long after you took Hesi did you find out your grade and then got accepted did you have an interview if you did what was it like? Sorry for all of the questions!!!!

Hi all! I applied to St. Pauls in Staten Island. Just took my HESI last week, did well, 90's. Unfortunately my gpa is on the lower side from when I attended college many years ago. Anyway in the meantime I have managed to earn all A's and B's. Hoping it will be good enough to get accepted. Any one else apply or get accepted in Staten Island?
