    After the test?

I received my results in a couple of days. Not long at all! Did you send in your transcripts already? That is the part that took long in my case. Took them 4 months to do my evaluation after receiving my transcripts. When are you looking to start? Im hoping for March!
  2. Hi all, Im a little discouraged today and was hoping for some positive info. I graduated in May with my Associates and accepted a nursing position in a hospital in June. I contacted WGU right out of school in hopes of starting soon after. They emailed me stating they received my transcripts in June, yet I did not receive my transcript evaluation until October. This to me seemed a little ridiculous. In October my area and home were devastated by Hurricane Sandy. So I put school on hold for a few months while we recovered from Sandy. I've tried contacting my enrollment counselor several times now and have not heard back. Today I called and spoke to a different counselor who told me that their enrollment cap has been met and all future student will be waitlisted! I almost fell off my chair. Anyone heard of this with WGU? I never have! Sorry for the long post just needed to vent! On a lighter note anybody else hoping to start program soon? Melissa

St. Paul's School of Nursing - Fall 2010 Acceptance

Hi all! Received the letter for orientation at SI location. Any current students know what kind of stethoscope and shoes we are required to buy? It says we can buy them anywhere but does not specify what kind we need.

St. Paul's School of Nursing - Fall 2010 Acceptance

Does anyone know if St. Pauls allows you to test out of any of the gen ed courses. I have passed both Eng courses needed but Eng 101 is over 5 years old so they wont accept the credit. Is there a way to possibly test out of the course? Thanksfor any help.

St. Paul's School of Nursing - Fall 2010 Acceptance

I was told this by the school, they reviewed my transcript and said they only accept courses which are a B or above. They make you sign a form that lists all of the classes you need to graduate and which ones you already have. I took 4 of the required classes but they only accepted 3 of them. One was more than 60 months go. I received the catalog from the school when I applied, it was the Spring 2010 catalog. Also this is from the St. Paul's in Staten Island. There may be diff. guidelines for the Queens school.

The passing grade for all nursing courses and nutritional therapy course is 80% (B), the passing grade for all general education courses is 70% ©. Anything below that is recorded as an F on transcript. This is from the 2010 St Paul's catalog.

No not at all. There are about 2-3 questions regarding liquid measurement but cant remember any milliliter or kilogram questions being on the test at all. I was also having trouble memorizing them, kept getting confused.

Yes I picked the night program. I would prefer the day program too but I have two little ones who are home with me during the day. I'm not too sure about transfer credits they haven't told me whether or not they are accepting mine yet. I also have everything but micro and a&p, hopefully they take them to lighten our courseload. I will keep you updated if I hear anything. Keep me posted about your test.:):)

Hi JC2372!! Ok first let me start by saying TAKE YOUR TIME!!! I rushed through the exam b/c the proctor told us not to spend too long on each question. You have 4 hrs, I finished in 90 minutes and scored above 90 in each section. So DONT rush. Ok on to the actual test. Everything is pretty much exactly what is in the Hesi study guide. You have a calculator you can use on the computer so that speeds things up a bit. There are not a lot of word problems, I would say approximately 10. Memorize the roman numerals, military time and liquid measurements there are a few questions pertaining to them on there. The math is exactly the same as the guide but obviously some questions are a little more difficult than the study examples. The vocab is exactly what is in the study guide aside from maybe 5 words. For example hypertension was one of the words that was not in our book. They will use some of the words in sentences. The reading section was the most difficult to me, prob b/c I was rushing and did not want to keep going back to read the passages agaon and again. They will give you 3 or 4 passages and you have approx 6 questions per passage. Then the grammar, they will give you sentences and you have to pick the word that is or is not grammatically correct or fill in the blanks. I dont remember them asking anything about identifying nouns, verbs or adjectives etc. Also you cannot go back after answering a question only forward. The sections are broken up by the 4 categories, math, grammar, vocab and reading. If I remember correctly you can pick the order you want to do the sections in. Sorry post is so long wanted to really explain it the way I would have liked it explained. Hope this helps. Good Luck and relax if you do good on the practice problems in the book you will do good on the test. Let me know if you have any other questions!:):)

Thank you sooo much!! Yes I was recently accepted to the SI location, just handed in my deposit. I applied for the evening program though. I dont have A & P but I do have psych so maybe that will lighten my courseload a little. Fundamentals sounds like a tough class but like you said not impossible. Do you buy all of your supplies before classes start ex: uniform, books, med supplies? I'm glad to hear you are happy with the program, very reassuring. I'm in CSI now and St. Pauls is a breath of fresh air compared to them.

Vitamin Sea- Thanks, I figured I would have to wait for something. I just wasn't sure if the staff works throughout the summer or comes back before school starts. I wanted to be as prepared as possible. I have completed all pre reqs except micro and A & P. You applied to the evening program also right? SMC6787- Hi, I have so many questions, dont know where to begin. Can you tell us what your schedule is like? How is the staff? Is med/surg as hard as I hear it is? Thanks so much!!

St Pauls School of Nursing 2010 Acceptance

No I never got called for an interview after applying. I did have to meet with an admission rep prior to applying to the school. I did pretty well on both of my admissions tests and then received a letter stating I qualified for acceptance. I had to fill out the enrollment form, pay $500 deposit, take a drug screening and do a criminal background. Now just waiting!! Good Luck!!
