  1. It's been a while since I last posted. Congrats to those who got accepted. I've been contemplating these past months whether I should attend the program or just re-apply next year. Which is one of the reasons why I wasn't able to post - i was having some serious 'thinking'. I honestly do not know what to do. I really want this but I don't know if it should be my top priority at the moment. The tuition is just too high for me, though I have taken all the pre-requisites already which deducts almost half of the 35 gran. I believe it's more expensive than Beth Israel and LICHSON. The school is also too far to travel for my job.:crying2: Anyone else got accepted and having second thoughts? I don't know about the loans and stuff...
  2. Congratulations to all who got their acceptance letters!!
  3. I believe there's no pre-requisites to get in. The school is a block program which means the curriculum is fixed. If you're talking about the non-nursing courses they are ENG1, Gen. Psychology, ENG2, A&P1, A&P2, Microbio, Dev. Psych, Sociology, Math for meds. You can take this outside SPSON to save money. 500 per credit is ridiculous. I hope I didn't miss something.
  4. Classes are definitely transferable. From what I was told, all my credits got transferred. I've taken a medical dosage course from my previous college; They will let me take a challenge course this July (If I remember it right.) Soo, how's everybody doing? Did anyone else get accepted? Anyone in the night program?
  5. Hi MelisSI. Just sit back and relax. They will be mailing the information package in a few weeks/months. They are still accepting applications so the wait could probably take months. In the meantime, make sure your immunizations are up to date, your fin-aid is done, and that's about it. Enjoy the summer. BTW, have you finished all your pre-reqs?
  6. Anyone here currently in the evening program? I'm curious about the usual schedule. :chair:
  7. I am so sorry to hear that you didn't get in. I would definitely call them and ask. Don't lose hope! You did really really good on your HESI! Did you finish all your prerequisites? What are your science GPA if you don't mind me asking? Did you apply in the day or night program? Because, I believe day program is extremely hard to get into.
  8. Yes. That's the only date that's on the package so I guess that's what they're referring when they said "date of this letter." I was able to contact the director of admission through email, and was surprised when she called me on my cell. I was in the theater and I had to rushed outside to talk to her. I could say that she's way helpful than the guy that I spoke to before. She mentioned all the credits that were transferred from my other school. less than 4months left till we start nursing classes. I hope to meet every one of you guys. :redpinkhe Btw. I changed my username.
  9. The date is on the envelope's top right corner. I found it odd that they didn't put a date on the letter.
  10. @rutgersgrad10 My advice is to go directly to the school and fill out an application on the spot. Bring all the necessary files - state ID, processing fee, and essay. I'm sure they're going to let you do the wonderlic exam - a 12 min IQ test. Their phone don't answer 98% of the time - it goes directly to the voicemail which is if you leave a msg, it's going to take a month to get a response. @Kem215 Big congrats on your interview from Beth. I heard that if you get an interview, that's like a guaranteed acceptance (don't quote me though, but that's what I heard) @wewe12 I found the HESI easier than I thought it would be. My only advice for math is to study conversions (mostly liquids like lbs, cups, tbs) Grammar, reading comprehension, and vocabulary is going to be easy if your first language is English so don't sweat it. Vocab words consist of basic medical terminology. Good luck! I did very good even though I didn't buy the book. Just relax and you can do it! :redbeathe @Searching13 I know a few people who mentioned that this school lost their transcripts as well. I don't see how they could lost such very important files. It's a one-floor school and obviously not a lot of applicants since they're still accepting application considering the deadline was mar1. Did they accidentally dispose those very important personal files. --------------------------- I'm not trying to discouraged anyone from attending the school. Who knows, they might actually be helpful during the school days. I just hope all the staff are approachable/helpful this fall. Class of 2012:nurse: Congrats to all those who got accepted. GOOD LUCK to all that's waiting to hear from St. Paul's.
  11. Please can you PM me her email address. Would love to send her an email about my questions. And, if you have the time could you include some additional infos about the school - clinical sites, etc. Thank you. :redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe
  12. This was one of my issues as well. It didn't state on my letter if it's day or night program. I'd called them just to clarify. Don't worry. I'm sure you got accepted to the day program. Oh and btw, BIG congratulations on your acceptance! I did my background check and drug/urine test a couple of days after getting my letter. Just to get it over with. Good luck to all of us.
  13. I have to agree with you. I already got my acceptance letter and I'm starting to have second thoughts about this school. Thing is, this is the only school that I applied to. If there are schools out there that are still accepting application, I would definitely not choose St. Paul. The person that I spoke to on the phone is starting to irritate me. I would send a complaint to the director on why would they hire such person - very unhelpful, unapproachable, and so full of himself. I called last week to inquire about the program for the fall since I still have no idea about the schedule, the curriculum, and the financial aid, or what hospital are we attending, etc. He wouldn't give me straight answers. It's like he's making me sound stupid. I called for a second time and asked him if all my credits were transferred and got a "I don't know answer." I also asked him a couple of questions about scholarships, he didn't let me finish my sentence and said "I don't know about scholarships." Seriously. Give yourself a favor and just quit your job. It's not like it's a university. It's one floor for pete's sake! No wonder it's not NLN accredited. I bet, they couldn't even pass the "customer satisfaction" - if such exist. Vent done.
  14. So did anyone get their acceptance letter? If so, are you guys attending the day or night program? I hope current student/s would offer some advice and insights about the school. :l
  15. This is my opinion about being NLN accredited. From my knowledge, in order to be NLN accredited the school must wait for their first graduating class's pass rate on NCLEX in order to secure full accreditation status. St. Paul's is not St. Vincent anymore. I am positive that it will be NLN accredited in the future. I bet all nursing schools were not NLN accredited when they started.
