To LdilyyL,
Make sure you double check with them .. when they evaluate my classes she made so many error that they to print 3 different times. initially they only transfer 2 of my classes then i kept questioning her which went to 5 classes ...my adviser did mention that the lady who evaluate the classes was new so she didnt know lot the classes... I also took medical dosage they said they r not sure it they could transfer so have check with administrator ... i know they rush but its our money & time so make sure you double check it ..
Also i am lil worried about whole nln issue that other people talked in this site
Hey Ash8585...
When she showed me that my Psych got transferred I was in shock.
I told her I took English 1, Literature at least that should be transferred .. she went over somewhere and came back and told me that no it's not the same English curriculum that I have taken. I took English 1 at CSI .. and I took womans literature apparently thats not real literature class.. It should have been just literature w/o the woman part. LOL
How can I try to prove to them that its the same thing?!
Should I bring a syllabus fro CSI? Cause that doesn't sound too right.
BTW: Congrats on your acceptance..and don't worry bout not being NLN accredited, my mother is a nurse she got her license back in Russia .. she still got hired greater position than a regular nurse could get. So the NLN thing is nothing for me .. as long as I get my license.
hey LdilyyL,
I took ENH - 214 Literature & Film ( got B+) I got credit for that one .. i am not really sure why they didnt take ur class... I have also took english 151 but i got C so i didn't get credit for that one
.. however if u took english 151 and received C + or more ask them if you can get credit for that ... if you have time over the summer try to take some classes at csi so its cheaper and kinda easier so when we have to take nursing classes at least we don have to worry about the electives ... take care and good luck :)
Hey Lisa =]
Thank you so much for your advice. I will try to talk to the advisor one more time bout my credits. I got an A in both English's I dont know why there giving me a hard time with it. I need some kind of proof for them to see that its the same curriculum, so I'll just bring syllabus from the schools that I attended hopefully that will work.
Thank you once again.
Just so you know, a bill was passed that says all nurses need to get their BSN in a certain amount of time after receiving their RN. Many nurses (such as the mother who received her schooling out of the US) have been grandfathered under this bill so they do not need to obtain a BSN. Many, if not all, bachelors programs will not accept classes that are not from an accredited school.

I've told you (or someone else posting the same misinformation), no such law has yet been passed into law within NYS. There is a bill for "BSN in Ten" and that is just what it has remained thus far. Very little action has taken place beyond some meetings and comments submitted by various interested parties. Please check your facts before sending out such information.
You haven't told ME anything. There has been more then "some meetings and comments" made about this bill but I'm not on this board to argue. I was simply stating that if RNs from a non-accredited school wish to go on and obtain their BSN (which is going to be a necessity eventually, even if BSN in 10 doesn't pass) it is going to be extremely difficult. St Pauls is quite a price tag for a non accredited education. Maybe this isn't the case in other parts of the state, but downstate where St Pauls is located the hospitals have more than enough new grads to choose from that when they're not having a hiring freeze they are looking for BSN nurses.
That is all I'm saying on the St Pauls matter. Good luck in your future nursing endeavors.

Yeah hopefully soon. If I get accepted I'm planning on doing morning classes cause I work nights. How bout u?? That's sux, only one class? I have some completed classes such as English classes and some others but I'm not sure what exactly they would take. Maybe you can call and find out why some of your others weren't transfered.
