how many of you are starting out aug. 15th? tell me how you feel and how your day was..
my official 1st day of nursing 115 is this monday - aug. 15th and i'm ready to jump right to it. it has been a year since i decided to take this journey and luckily i finished all my pre-req excepts microbiology, but summer 2006 i'll take that.
this is how my schedule looks:
mondays (lecture from 8:30 - 12:30)
tuesdays (lab from 8:00 - 3:00)
wednesdays (my off day)
thursday & fridays (clinicals at nursing home from 7:30-1:30)
i think i have everything i need:
textbooks (9), 2 - white v top w/cpcc monogram top, 2 - white draw string pant, 1-navy lab coat w/cpcc monogram, 1 pair of white k-swiss tennis shoes (hope their comfortable), white hosiery/socks, 262 penlite, bandage scissors, hemostats, 25-ste black taylor hammer, littman stethoscope & holder, watch with second hand, accessory bag, mp3 player & cd that way i can burn the notes and listen to it in my car, small calculator, notepads, clipboard that i can insert items in, highlighters, hand sanitizers, alcohol swabs.
think that sums it up.
all my stuff was paid through wia program. i am so lucky to have that. :rotfl:
good luck to all who is starting on monday. please tell me how your day went?

From an old nurse and instructor: Congratulations on your new career. It will be a roller coaster ride, but hang in there! I advise you to get a study group or buddy early in the game. Someone who is as serious as you about graduating. Learn and practice relaxation techniques. Nursing school is not easy, but you are embarking on a career that offers so much. Be proud! Oh, and the first day is full of jitters for everybody.
