  1. I am in the program. I love it. I'll be entering my 3rd semester there. I took 2 classes my first, one six credit course this summer, and ill be taking 2 classes this fall for a total of 7 credits. I also take burlington comm college classes. I still work full time. Its manageable but you just have to be a self learner who is dedicated. A fairly new grad may struggle since the demands of work are still high. There are no tests, just a few quizes in some classes, and loads of papers. One class had a videotaped assesment. Ill be done in the fall 2008 i can't wait. email with any questions, which classes are you enrolled and what teachers Nicole
  2. i have a 20, 000 loan from my adn that i got through a private loan company my payment is 145 a month for 10 years......im going back for my bsn and will probably rack up another 40, 000 by the time i get my bsn and msn but its worth it since ill be done completely and able to advance plus my work reimburses and im going to use that to pay off my old school loan and the new one will be federal and ill consolidate at a low rate........my husband is an accountant with loans too but he is good at arranging loans so that they can be paid off quickly and without hurting my everyday living

  6. yes they have baylor for nurses with experience you work sat and sun 12hours each and get paid for 36 hours......you only get 2 weekends off per year
  7. i left cooper because they of their proffesionalism.....believe me its a good hospital with great nurses and its crazy busy and you learn alot!! but i started there in august since i failed my boards my june start dat was pushed back to august until i passed boards which i did....i found a tumor in breast in late june after i failed boards and had it removed to find it was benign,......in aug on nights ( that is usally all they offer new grads u wait 1 yr for days) i started and then in november i found another lump my doc were hopeful again but i had to have surgery right away to remove it and needed time off to recooperate . i worked on an oncology floor and i thought they'd understand the scariness to this situation i fought tooth and nail for the time off to have surgery and recover......i did have surgery and when i came back being on a cancerfloor after two scares myself was too much i began having panic attacks both at work and at home and i went to management to ask for a position transfer to basic med surg flloor without oncology.....they refused i tried to stick it out till i had a panic attack at home which led me to the er.......i then went to my docotor who pulled me from work until we could get me on antianxiety medications at a level to control my attacks....he next morning i was fired and my benifits cut......i went to my union i knew i was being mistreated.......1 week later i recievedan apology and the green light to reaaply to any floor with the promise of rehiring. i said no thaank you. i took a position for day shift not nightsat virtua memorial on the infectious disease floor ....i have never been happier or felt more fulfilled like i do there......i know everything happens for a reason and im glad it did........i dont down cooper i down management and how they treated one of their own when i needed them most.
  8. new rn at cooper make roughly 25 an hour with 15% diff at night they just got a new contrat so it make be more.......they offer 10,000 sign on.......i worked there 6 months and left for virtua ....im happy now
  9. i took my test june 05 and failed with 265 ....i studied hard and took it again at the soones august 15 05 and passed with 265 you know the material just relax
  10. i failed in june05 with 265 and passed in august 05 with 265
  11. i did nights for 6 months and changed to days.......they way i got through was if i had work i would come home at 8 and sleep til 4 or 5 id get up get a shower and eat and go to work if i dint have work the next day i would come home at 8 and sleep right away until like 2 or 3 and i would forcce myself to get up i would eat, run , do errands making myself tired enogh that when 9 or 10 rolled around i could sleep throught the night and be backon a normal person schedule.....until i had towork again and then i would get up early that morning do my errands and come home by 1 and nap till 4 or 5 again and then shower eat and go to work......its hard but somepeople love it.....i couldnt do it i was sick and losing wt so i went to days ....people say do it for a year and you'll know....but trust me.....in 4- 6 months you know
  12. hey im going to begin working for an agency called onward healthcare it an agency in pa and burlignton but im signing up for work at a specific hospital only in willingboro.....i post my resume on monster and a million agencys call everyday, alot are in pa but some are here.....also try pool nursing......kennedy has a pool with low requirements and you just call their supplemental staffing office......jefferson has one too and you can call their main number ..just watch the requirements alot require only 24 hours in 6 weeks but 18 have to be weekend work and some require holidays....onward has no requiremnts unless you want benefits
  13. i also graduated from bcc last may...i think it was a great program and i actually started in philadelphia community but heir wait list was 2 years....i went to bcc and used my fiances address, i evntually moved here. it was alot cheaper and i think made me better prepared than alot of other nursing students some even with their bachelors........ its also very easy to get a job in burlington couty especially at the hospitals you had clinicals cause they saw you in action.
  14. in my opinion its both lax and stressful.....yes theyre areless orders on nights but when a pt goes bad its harder to ahve those resources like on days........its easier to get comfortable with nursing and your routine , loking at charts on nights but for me nights wasnt worth a long stay i felt like i lost my lifeline on nights and i enjoy days having the doctors constantly around along with my manager and other resources .....i know im not alone
  15. im currently in the same situation but in my case i had my own medical issues and my work fired me because they coudnt grant me medical leave. I filed grievence with my union got an apology and a welcome back but wekks had gone by and i was fed up with how i was treated at my lowest point. I got a job at a closer hospital with people that are really nice. I was contacted about my defaukt on my contract and am currently negotiating it i recieved 8000 for one years work i worked 6months and this happened . They want all 8000 back in one payment or 12 payments of 700 dollars or i get sent to collection agency Im working it out but you can buy out.
