Hello everyone. I have been an ER nurse for the past 7 years and soon I will be interviewing for an ER position at St Barnabas in the Bronx. Do any of you work there? If so, can you shed some light re: the ER, staff, patient population, management, and overall environment? How is the pharm exam? Starting salary for experienced RNs? Benefits? Thanks in advance....

hi! i actually work there! =) i worked in admitting and registration in the ER at first. i have a lot of family members who work in the hospital and got lucky to land a position in administration while i study for my nclex. when do you start? our er gets pretty busy. our population is mostly mcd/mcr patients. we're a level 1 trauma hospital as well as a stroke center.
email me if you have any questions. I can try and help as much as I can.
Hey Kace22. Do you happen to know what are the hours of the night shift? 730-8am, 700-730pm? He recruiter told the nurses work 12 shifts, does that break down to 3 shifts per week? How are the benefits? Are the nurses overwhelmed? I'm 30 and the fun person, is the staff cool and nice?. Thanks for responding...
hey... i got your PM =) but idk how to reply.. can't find it. lol. here's my email

the hours are 12 hour shifts, usually 3 days a week with an occasional 4. Have you ever been to the bronx?

Hey Kace,
Maybe you can help me with this. I will be taking a pre-employment pharmocology test at St. Barnabas. Do you remember if they give a study guide on the things to study, is the exam difficult?

Hey, I will also be taking the pharm exam at St Barnabas. I am just waiting for HR to contact me to schedule a day for this How was the exam? do they give you a study guide? What was the content? Can we use calculators? Any information on your experience will be so helpful!!! Thanks, and I hope you passed the exam and got the job
I found the exam to be very difficult . I applied for the er and it asked about ekg rhythms and treatments, acls meds, and what would you do first questions. No study guide , I failed but they let me interview anyway
Did you still get the job? Do they give you another chance to take the exam? Thanks.

Hi everyone! I just interviewed with nursing administration yesterday for Saint Barnabas Hospital and I scheduled with HR today for my pharm test today. Does anyone have any in site to the exam? How should I study for it? I know it is a 60 question multiple choice exam with no calculator
