I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)
I GOT IN!!!! Whew, what a relief!Congrats to everyone else - can't wait to meet you all!
I am also provisional admission - finishing up my history classes and literature this fall - thank goodness they are almost over....
Has anyone already taken Pathophysiology and considering petitioning to be put in Advanced Patho?
I'm pretty sure you cannot get into advanced patho since this is a masters level course, but you can definitely fill out a course petition to see if you can receive credit for the patho course you took. You can also do this for pharm if you so choose. There were a few in my class that didn't have to take patho/pharm their first semester because they filled out a course petition.
okay, so for those of you following this thread who are already at UT, what kind of supplies do we need for school? Also, what kind of scrubs do we have to get and is there a certain stethoscope that we have to have? I know its a little early but I am going to be out of town for a few weeks and I want to get as much done as I can as early as possible

The funny part about the writing sample is it actually changes with every semester usually and with every person or group. Mine wasn't about academic integrity or employees that don't work...mine ironically enough was about revealing interview questions to a friend who would interview a few days or week after I do....I was specifically told that was given because so many do this and they feel it is the equivalent of cheating...She was specific that it tests us as students and our character. If we would reveal specific questions than it says something about how we would be as students to them. So I am 100% with islessthan3you be careful about what you say on here...I know people who work for the school and I KNOW they check these threads. These will not be the writing samples the next semester will get.
Although this is my first post to this thread, I've been keeping up with you guys' posts for the past 2 months and I've really enjoyed everything you all have had to say! It's been quite the journey and I can thankfully say that at 6:08am this morning, I checked my UT link status and I've been granted provisional acceptance!!!!! I didn't feel alone on this crazy ride because of all your wonderful posts, and although I'm glad this part is over, I know we've only just begun! Congratz everyone and God bless!Btw... I took a screenshot of my UT Link and it is now my desktop background, lol. I'm gonna be on a joy high all day!

I'm taking patho right now but what is the advantage (if any) of getting into advanced patho? How did you know this was even an option?
