Spring 2011 UT Health Sciences Nursing Hopefuls

I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)

I've had a question that's been hanging over my head....The interviewer was writing out our answers on the slip of paper with questions on it, right? So basically...do you guys think she just slips the paper into our file and then the admissions committee simply reads our responses? In that case, how would our demeanor, presentation, and impression be evaluated?? :confused:

Yes, the interviewer just writes our answers on that slip of paper and slips it into our file. However, the person interviewing me showed me that on the back of that sheet of paper were questions that pertained to the interviewer's impression of us....I don't remember the exact questions, but each one asked the interviewer to rate us (I think it was a scale of 1-5, 1 being disagree and 5 being strongly agree I believe) on things like 'do you feel the applicant would succeed in this program' or 'would you recommend this applicant'. I don't remember the rest of the questions, but the interviewer does get a chance to put his/her thoughts about the interview onto that sheet of paper.

I really hope I made a good impression to the interviewer...you know how sometimes when you're really nervous you don't fully act like yourself. I keep going over the interview in my head. Just wondering, what are all of your stats? I have a 3.69 in pre-reqs and 4.00 in science pre-reqs.....went to the university of st. thomas and also hcc. 88 on hesi overall.

3.45 prereq and 3.75 science

i dont remember my exact hesi score but it was about 86.

sigh... they accidentally withdrew me from my theater class... i have no idea why... i am pretty ****** though and I am panicking trying to find out how to get it fixed

This wait is hard. I have already had acceptance letters and emails from HBU and TWU but UT is my first choice. I hope I know soon! I really want to go to UT!

how long do you have to give your response to HBU and TWU? i'm in the same boat as you. i received acceptance into UTMB's BACC2, but am wanting to hear from all the schools i applied to before i make my decision. i live up in spring and would like to go to school a little closer if possible....

Congrats to both of you on getting responses from other schools. I really hope they don't make us wait until Nov. 15. I was really hoping on finding out this month from UT, it is the only school I applied to.

i have to notify twu by oct. 29th and hbu by nov. 1st. i really hope i hear from UT before the end of this month and I feel they might notify us on UT link before nov. because from what i have been reading on this thread is that only around 325 got interviews. so hopefully it wont take as long as previous semesters. Congrats to you as well for UTMB. I am excited to know that even if I dont get in to UT at least I will still go somewhere else but 1 yr. to be a nurse at UT would be the best ever.

For those of you who have been accepted to TWU...where did you guys take your microbiology prereq? Because I was told at the information session that they're only accepting microbiology credit from colleges like Lee and San Jac college only, no other houston community colleges. And that it has to designated for "science majors"....is this true?

I got accepted to TWU and I took micro at lonestar college. The class I took was called medical microbiology. Was your micro class not accepted?

I was accepted into TWU-Houston and I took my prereq at HCC-Coleman Campus. The micro class was not designated for science majors.

No, I actually haven't applied to TWU but was just thinking about my other options if I don't get accepted into UT. I took microbiology at hcc-spring branch campus though....I was just wondering whether I'd have to take it again if I were to apply to twu...
