I am a UT Houston hopeful applying for the traditional and accelerated nursing program. I will complete my science prereqs (A&P 1/2) in the summer. I will finish up with Micro and Chem in the fall. I am so focused right now. Anyone else out there? :)
The interview questions were really basic: i can't remember all of them. But overall it was really easy. And I am normally really shy, so for me to say it was easy is saying something lol!
Beebers- The woman who checked us in said that admission letters get sent out on Nov. 17. So i am guessing that it will be that day or a day or two before that is is posted on UT link.
Guys, I don't think we should talk about which questions were asked or what the writing sample prompt was during the interview. It's unfair to the first batch of people who went in without any sort of knowledge about what to expect. It gives the next incoming batches an upper hand/advantage. I think it's fine to talk about how it was in general - like the waiting, the level of difficulty of the interview, that kind of stuff....just to keep things fair.
I think we can all respect that. I was given the impression the interview is weighted a good amount and everyone who will be interviewing obviously has a competitive application/ hesi scores. I think it is great that we can help each other ease the nerves and give an idea as to what to expect as far as the process.
There were 27 in the pm group. & 2 interviewers, i believe. The hardest part is waiting to be called because that's when the nerves kick in and you get hungry, thirsty, needing to potty, etc...lol....you get to sit at a table with 3 others and they have everything laid out for you like pens, scratch paper, and white out...lol...have your resume handy they pick those up as soon as you walk in and check your photo id. :)

sorry, didn't think of it that way. I thought I was helping, if anyone knows how to delete posts I will delete my post.
I think you have to notify the moderator to delete posts...Hmmmm...not sure...just a note...I sat in a table with 3 others....every single one of us had a different short answer question and neither one of those were the same as the two that have already been posted on this forum...so there are atleast 6 different ones.

As far as the writing prompt, one of the proctors told me that they change it out most interview days. She also added, "Yeah, we read the posts on allnurses.com!" I lolled at that. And to find out about the interview questions, I read older posts from previous applicants on this same website. They use the same basic interview questions every semester apparently. I suppose it's too late to tell you that now, but... I'm sorry... thumbs up soldier.
@hereigo - I'll be stressed for the next 6 weeks or so....I'm praying for the best but preparing for the worst. To be honest I didn't feel like the interviewer was impressed with me. I keep replaying the interview in my mind and I continue to think of things I should have said or things I should not have said.
ps thanks.

Do you think we'll have to wait all the way til Nov. 15th for admissions decisions? Do they complete all interviews first then send out decisions or kind of do it along the way?
kimmy008 & OnMyWay2B12010 - how long did you two wait after interviews to hear that you got in?
