Spring 2017 TCC Nursing Students

Published

Starting thread for TCC nursing students submitting application in a few weeks for the Spring 2017 semester ADN program. Personally, I have followed and watched and reviewed entrances over the year and it changes upon fall and spring semesters and the amount of applicants. I will be applying with two A's in A&P and Micro and a B in A&P2, so my GPA is a 3.6.... My first HESI score is a 87.5. I have seen acceptance with this, and have contemplated retaking HESI just to see if I do any different.

Comment and ask any questions and I hope to see you all in Spring!

I would recommend that you guys keep yourself busy and not check this board until you know if you got in or not. It's a stressful time and constantly thinking about doesn't help. I checked the discussion board everyday and I kind of wish I hadn't cause then the time would have gone much faster.

Well I will be confidently on here posting and updating with my other future nursing students if you choose to join, meet up and have food or drinks some days, and just general conversation. This is for support, information sharing, and comradery between those going to the program or submitting to. If it stresses you and youre worried by all means dont check or talk here. But personally I dont believe this forum will have a significant correlation to increase or decrease your stress. If youre worried now, youre gonna be worried. What I do suggest though for those worried, in these next weeks if your hesi is lower than yould like, retake if you can at another center or college before you submit and try to raise it up. I didnt want to and I took the advice and did it again and got 90. Or take your chance and see the outcome. However, whatever you do, walk in confidence!

This is the hardest part of the whole process. It gets significantly easier once you are actually in the program.

Meagan, did you submit your application today?

I turned in my application today and was told that they had only received a little over 100 applications so far

Oh, wow! I turned mine in today as well and didn't even think to ask how many they had received so far.

I turned in my application this morning too! The lady said that they only had about 100 applications, but that the last week is when they receive the most.

She also said that the number of seats available depends on the nursing grants that they receive, but for sure there would be 130.

Yay! I'm so excited this thread has been started - I searched obsessively for a while and then made myself step away from the keyboard lol. I hope to get a day off to apply this week or next at the latest! Is everyone just showing up to apply or is there an appointment process?

Hey there! I'm a foundations student this Fall and was accepted with a 3.3 and 92.5 HESI. My best advice is to not give up and keep trying no matter what. I applied for Spring 2016 with a 2B and 1A and a 88.5 HESI and didn't make it. I ended up refocusing and studying my weak areas, raised my HESI and made it in for this Fall. Try not to stress too much and enjoy this term (I know it's easier said than done). If you don't make it it's not the end of the world just take some time to breathe and then get ready for the next application cycle. Rumor is my class is one of the largest ones they let in so you never know how competitive your application cycle is or how many students they are letting in. Give it your all, don't give up and you will make it :)

You can just show up to the nursing office anytime between 8-5 to turn in your application

Just one more month guys!! It will fly by.
