Spring 2017 TCC Nursing Students

Published

Starting thread for TCC nursing students submitting application in a few weeks for the Spring 2017 semester ADN program. Personally, I have followed and watched and reviewed entrances over the year and it changes upon fall and spring semesters and the amount of applicants. I will be applying with two A's in A&P and Micro and a B in A&P2, so my GPA is a 3.6.... My first HESI score is a 87.5. I have seen acceptance with this, and have contemplated retaking HESI just to see if I do any different.

Comment and ask any questions and I hope to see you all in Spring!

It's Used for a tie breaker, correct. That's what I was told as well.

This. Is. Truth!

Hello! Im currently taking pre-requisites to apply into the nursing program in the fall.. either cohort will be fine with me but by the deadline I will only have the HESI, A&P I AND II, ENG11, PSY 200 and 235, and PHI 220 completed. I plan to complete the rest of my pre-requisites in the spring so I will meet all of the Pre-requisites by the start of the cohort! if you are currently in the program or recently got accepted please help! i need some insight and would like to be able to weigh my options out 2MzmrmldDUluFszY4BeNRUhFw8YnK8nLzkBNSYABAA==

Sooooo we wait lol...this is fun. What does everyone do in normal life? Family?

Hey fellow nursing students. Just turned in my application today. 4.0 GPA in sciences and 93 on the hesi. Getting the vaccinations together was the hardest part for me...how is everybody else coping with the wait?

Meagan I'm a personal trainer and health coach as of now and a father of 1 and a new addition on the way!

My 2.5 year old keeps me pretty busy but I'm already hating the wait!!

The only prereqs you need for acceptance is AP 1 and 2 and microbiology. That science GPA along with your HESI score is all you need to submit package. Your other degree requirements have to be completed before graduation. So don't rush on them, they don't consider them at all for acceptance. But it helps you time wise if you have them done already. You may want to check your class numbers and the actual degree audit and what is required and compare it. But getting all that extra done before app period isn't needed.

Mine was finished completely all ready before core nursing starts in Jan, but that is my preference.

Go to Nursing information session. Run nursing degree audit and ensure youre taking classes you need to take. All nursing information is on the TCC nursing page.

Well I work in the OR at USMD Fort Worth. Ive been a surgical assistant for 8 years. Done everything from trauma and first assisting and I love the OR. I have 2 daughters that are 9 and 11. My husband and I are former US Marines. He works in Oil and Gas industry/engineering and is gone 2 weeks a month every month/2 weeks home 2 weeks gone.

And that's about that...we stay busy. :)

Your thread has been moved to the Nursing Schools / Colleges forum where the other school specific discussions are. We hope you will receive additional responses in this new location.

I'm sitting in the shade at Trinity River enjoying the sound of running water, I just literally dropped off my packet! The lady I spoke with told me she didn't have an official count of the number of applications received (bummer!), but said to start checking email around the 15th, give or take a few days. The wait begins!!!
