Starting thread for TCC nursing students submitting application in a few weeks for the Spring 2017 semester ADN program. Personally, I have followed and watched and reviewed entrances over the year and it changes upon fall and spring semesters and the amount of applicants. I will be applying with two A's in A&P and Micro and a B in A&P2, so my GPA is a 3.6.... My first HESI score is a 87.5. I have seen acceptance with this, and have contemplated retaking HESI just to see if I do any different.

Comment and ask any questions and I hope to see you all in Spring!

Hi Meagan! Thank you for starting this. I'll be applying with a 3.33 GPA and originally scored a 90% on the HESI but would like to get a higher score so I will be retaking it in August...fingers crossed!!

I have been told you need above a 95 on HESI with a 3.3 GPA to have a good chance for acceptance. So try for that. Thats also what all others in you situation were advised for on the other forums here I followed this past yr upon their acceptance and scores.

Also Update: Sent email to Katherine Aultman at TCC campus for advising and got this reply, "Thank you for contacting the health professions advising office. I am no longer with TCCD at this time. If you are interested in our programs, please reach out to the Trinity Campus Advising Office at 817-515-1055, or go online to schedule an appointment."

I am assuming this means she is no longer the main contact for Nursing advising. I will call within next few days and find out if there is a new primary advisor.

Meagan

Yes thats definetly what i am aiming for! Thank you

Hi! I'm taking the hesi in August and A&P2 this summer. I so far have 2 A's! I'm so stinking nervous! How was the math section on the Hesi? :)

I had 2 A's too up til my last AP2 class. I think it was the instructor though unfortunately. And for me the Math wasn't too bad. But I am very math oriented. Know how to convert and do percentages and fractions and decimals. There's a lot of those questions. And calculations for conversions between measurements.

The math is what I was most nervous about as well considering i had to take developmental my first semester at TCC. The math portion of the HESI was sooo basic. If you practice with the Elsevier HESI A2 practice book you will do fine! I actually ended up getting a 96% on the math section. Like Meagan said just know your conversions (which there is a chart in the book). There is a little calculator on the computer during the test that you can us that makes it entirely too easy....goodluck!!

I'm retaking HESI on Aug 2nd, just because why not? Has anyone printed off their app and everything yet? I just did mine yesterday. You have to have all you immunizations except TB and Flu if you don't have that, thrn your app wont be complete. Your Hep series had to have started before July 1st if youre just now starting it. Mines already done with a titer report fm years ago.

Hey Meagan, besides the payment confirmation/reciept have you received any other information like room number, etc. or do you know if we will? This is my first time taking it at TCC! And so far i have everything completed besides printing off the application because i'm weird and would feel like i would lose or ruin it before i'm ready to send it in LOL

Oh and the math section the first time I took HESI, I totally didn't realize there was that little calculator...so I did it completely in my head or on paper the first time! I got an 88 on math first time, but that was with no Calc lol...totally never saw it and they didn't tell us!
