Spring 2017 TCC Nursing Students

Published

Starting thread for TCC nursing students submitting application in a few weeks for the Spring 2017 semester ADN program. Personally, I have followed and watched and reviewed entrances over the year and it changes upon fall and spring semesters and the amount of applicants. I will be applying with two A's in A&P and Micro and a B in A&P2, so my GPA is a 3.6.... My first HESI score is a 87.5. I have seen acceptance with this, and have contemplated retaking HESI just to see if I do any different.

Comment and ask any questions and I hope to see you all in Spring!

I was told, when I dropped off my application, that it'll probably be more towards the 3rd week of September & if I have not heard from them by Sept 15th to not call them until the 3rd week of September, lol.

Based on past threads, I'm waiting until the 21st before I panic lol!

I am applying for the TCC nursing program tomorrow. Hoping to be part of the JPS cohort. I have a 4.0 GPA and a 90 HESI score. I also applied in July for the UTA nursing program. But they do not send out their acceptance letters till mid October.

How cool - you might have the opportunity to decide between two programs. Best of luck!

Would they send out emails during the weekend? Or just M-F probably?

I can't speak with any authority, but I'd say M-F. They're probably busy enough and want their weekends off lol.

How do I calculate my score?

I'm not exactly sure what score you mean? I looked at the last TCC application thread

(here's the link – you should really should check it out, there's great info!)

https://allnurses.com/online-nursing-schools/tarrant-county-college-1031364.html

and the information below I copy/pasted from that thread:

A= 4

B= 3

C= 2

add them together and divide by 3 then you get your GPA.

From what I have gathered from past threads and nursing students this is what people have said on how they accept students. This could totally be wrong though.

A= 100

B= 80

C= 60

add your three science grades and divide by 3. Then add your hesi score and divide by 2. In the past, students with a 90 or above (using this method) got accepted and alternates were in the mid to upper 80s.

Take this info with a grain of salt though, because I don't know that any of this is official".

Application period is now closed.. Officially count down for decisions.. Since I submitted my application so early, and kind of went through my anxiety phase, I feel peaceful and ready to accept either outcome. Good luck to us all, and hopefully I will be joining a group of outstanding individuals Spring of 2017..

I'm so happy to have found this thread. All of your scores look amazing! I've been so nervous about this whole process. It's nice to know that I'm not alone in the struggle. Let the waiting begin!!

Vegor, did you take the UTA pre-nursing courses already? If so, how were the university classes compared to TCC classes?

Specializes in Surgery.
