Hi! Anyone else looking to apply to NCC for the Spring 2019 Nursing Program? I'm so curious and anxious to know if I have enough 'points' to make the cut. How are you guys feeling? How are your points/stats adding up?
@vgavin27 sorry im first getting to this now okay im going to take what i know and apply it towards you, so im going to list all the courses and leave blanks the one you didn't do yet (for the ones you can do) and fill in from there:
AHS 131:
ENG 101: A (3 credits) =12
PSY 203: A (3 credits) =12
AHS 132:
MAT 102: A (3 credits) =12
PSY 216: A (3 credits) =12
AHS 202:
PHI 110: A (3 credits) =12
Electives:
MDC 101: A (3 credits) =12
Elective 2- specific to foreign language or arts which your taking a language now so it wouldn't be applied.
10 points for Nassau resident
5 points for not being in a nursing program
TEAS:
Reading: 85.1 =10
English: 87.5 =10
Math 96.9 =15
Total: 122
also keep in mind that if you do not do well in anatomy 1 it will ultimately be the determining factor if you are in or out, according to my professor if you do not get an A in the course, even if it says a minimum (i believe B? do not quote me it could be C for Nassau) it still will not be good enough...basically anatomy 1 is where they find out who is qualified and who isn't. idk if i necessarily agree to that point considering some people might get test anxiety but that was what she said.
from past forums, it looked like people were in the 140s with points
any classes taken this semester wouldn't be applied just so your aware which you probably got an idea but im confirming for you lol
Nassau Resident and no other nursing program. So I have 15 there. My TEAS add up to 35. My quality points add up to 72. So I'm at 122 because 3 of my courses don't count for nursing program. Thanks for offering, though!!
see im losing it i decided to help and didnt realize you said you figured it out silly me
Any updates from anyone ? I submitted my application on Thursday - I think I have a total of 152.5 without the Nassau points - not sure if they will give me the Nassau points .. praying it all works out and I counted correctly - fingers crossed
I doubt anyone will be hearing anything so soon. When I dropped my application off the lady said they would mail out the letters at the end of November. I applied through the nursing office.
