Spring 2019 Nassau Community College

Published

Hi! Anyone else looking to apply to NCC for the Spring 2019 Nursing Program? I'm so curious and anxious to know if I have enough 'points' to make the cut. How are you guys feeling? How are your points/stats adding up?

Heres a breakdown of my points

A&P1: A

A&P2: A

PSY 101: A

Lifespan: A

English Comp 1: A

English Comp 2: A-

ART Elective: A

HISTORY Elective: B

Stat: B

Nassau Resident & never been in a nursing program: 15 points

Teas: 25 Points

So I believe I have 149.25 points, but I saw on a previous thread that they only count one english comp, not sure if thats true. If it is then I have a 138 which I think is on the cusp so hopefully that isn't true.

Not sure if they would use your other English class as an elective? Or do you already have the electives you need ?I know they only require one though

2. One Elective chosen from the list of approved courses for one of the categories below:

- SUNY GER American History,

- SUNY GER Western Civilization,

- SUNY GER Other World Civilization.

3. One Elective chosen from the list of approved courses for one of the categories below:

- SUNY GER Foreign Language,

- SUNY GER The Arts.

Those are the electives that they take. They only take Eng 101. I have eng 102 and it is not counted towards the nursing degree when I do a degree analysis.

Hey guys,

I'm really nervous about applying. I've calculated my point and got 138 I'm not sure if it'll be enough. Fingers crossed. Good luck to those applying!

Last year people didn't get acceptance emails until nov 17. I would look out for a response around then. I assume they try to get them out right before the thanksgiving break

Yes gays true ; also they send letters out to your homes as well but it's both acceptance and denial letters :(

Nov. 17th isn't so bad! I hope the time flies by us. Hope everyone did well on their midterms!

Sorry typo.. meant to say Guys * just saw this can't edit comment not sure why :(

I wonder how the points work, like if a 140 from someone with less prereqs but better grades and a 140 from someone with more prereqs and less favorable grades are looked at the same way, does any one know?

I don't think it really matters - as long as your classes count as part of the program I guess - add those points up and that's your score .. doesn't matter if more of them were from pre-reqs ( which btw I was told they aren't really pre reqs . ) cause wether or not you have them all - you still need a higher score - so if I had all the "pre-reqs" and I got like C+ in all of them my score wouldn't be so high as compared to someone who had only a few pre reqs but all the elective with high grades such as As ...

I was wondering this today myself.

Is there any way to check status on the application?

No we just have to wait it out. If it's like last year we should be hearing something in about two weeks
