Spring 2019 Nassau Community College

Published

Hi! Anyone else looking to apply to NCC for the Spring 2019 Nursing Program? I'm so curious and anxious to know if I have enough 'points' to make the cut. How are you guys feeling? How are your points/stats adding up?

Does NCC have grades with minuses ? Like A- B- etc ?

Does anyone know how the points work for Living in Nassau county ?

They have the class schedule available to look at on the website, every section has clinical Monday from 7am-2pm from what it looks like!

Can you guide me on where I could possible see this?! Are you referring to fall or spring ?

10 points for living in Nassau county

The thing is I moved to Nassau county but My residency status still says "out of county resident " and they need proof of residency after living here for 6 months - I only updated my license recently but my address on file is still my New Nassau County one, don't lkow what this means :(

10 points for being a Nassau county resident, 5 for never being in a nursing program. I have all A's so multiply 4 times the amount of credits for each course so I get 88 points for my GPA then the teas I scored exemplary in English and Reading so those are both 15 points each, advanced in math and in science so 10 points each so total actually comes to 153. But, I'm not sure if they're counting the science portion of teas this semester or not, they told me they were going to start but I don't know when they're starting that.

Another thhjng you should note, I know transfer classes aren't weighed the same I didn't get much info on how they are weighed but consider that as a factor!

Blopedote15 my bad meant to reply towards rpersa03

Yes - I only have 2 transfer classes - all the rest I did at Nassau - I was out of county resident while I was doing my pre reqs , but got a job in garden city and decided to move to Nassau since it'll make sense all around commute plus school - it sucks even tho I love here I Amy not get the 10 points , so without the 10 resident points I'm back down to 137.5:(

Are you applying for spring too ?

Soo weird how it hasn't updated! I'm not quiet sure how many points I have, I have to recalculate lol but it's in my phone the little "go by" chart...I'd be applying for the fall, I didn't get a chance to take the teas partially cause I had emergency appendix surgery but all I need is microbiology which I'll take in the spring even if it still won't count towards the program of classes taken. The one issue for me is I go there off time but I took a lot of classes over the summer which would have made me a full time student..I'm going to still apply for a change of major but I have a strong feeling I'm going to be one in 3 million to Nassau and at this point I've been to school and screwed over enough times where I'm considering getting at least a associates (which I can get in the spring) and then getting a bachelors right after. The only thing I need to talk to Nassau about it a gym credit because since I'm part time the "real" semesters I've been there Fufulling the gym requirement is not necessary for the liberal arts ba degree....Trust me I'd love to stay at Nassau literally Nassau would be the fourth school I've been to and the only one that had guide me on where to actually go in life and not play any jokes and all, plus the fact that I can easily pay it all upfront especially since I have to deal with loans from the other schools, it just makes life ten times easier. Continuing on that thought and from yesterday about other shool's, I saw with the local schools they have some sort of agreement where they accept most of all of your credits while receiving some sort of money and since all the schools locally are private and I do not want to go away to school anymore that money would be super useful but I need to get all the info on what's the smartest thing for me to do

If I got a little of tangent I'm so sorry, I was adding bits and pieces once I remembered haha.

My brain is soooo fried I had what is considering the hardest chapter test in class today and I was studying so hard so my brain is everywhere

Also if I go to adelphi which is one of the schools I'm really considering I should have about 2-2 1/2 years left....if I got into the program at Nassau for an associates all I'd need are the nursing classes which would leave me at Nassau for an additional two years and then I'd have to get my bsn on top of that which idk how long that exactly would be, but if my brain is functioning right now I think it would end up being longer for me to do that route...the other thing steering me away is online classes which the bsn and a lot of R.N. to bsn programs are...I've taken them before, yes the convenience is nice and it's somewhat of a joke for discussion but they make you do ridiculous papers and tests and if your not understanding the material correctly it could end up hurting you, I just wasn't a fan when I took them
