Spring 2018 MDC Nursing Program

Published

My journey started from cna, lpn now,I applied for spring 2018 nursing bridge program. I am looking forward to what it has to offer and the challenges ahead. Anything is possible if you work hard and be persistence in reaching every goal you set for yourself. Always keep a positive mind.

@futurebsn92 i was exempt. I have a bachelor degree in health administration and i took intro to health care in my undergrad program. So i went to speak to a advisor and i did my cpr license and i paid the fee waiver and it posted on my transcript as complete. So I'm really confused as in to why i haven't been notified by now. My science gpa is 3.5 i got a 80 on my hesi. I have my cpr already. So I'm really at a lost for words right now. I even contacted IT to make sure my email was correct and it is.

I feel you should get in because I had all the same things as you and your scores are higher then mines

Specializes in Corrections, Surgical.
The chances of this happening are slim but you may want to check it out if you haven't gotten anything by Friday:

Either last year or the year before an applicant on here, allnurses, was going through the same thing, high GPA and good HESI scores. They ended up going into MDC and asking why they were looked over during the first and second wave and they found out whomever had done the input of their science grades had put the wrong grades and also the wrong HESI score so their application didn't meet the requirements. It was fixed and they were offered a seat.

Come Monday there's exactly two weeks to become compliant by AO orientation and Thanksgiving takes 2 days away from us. Sending good vibes to everyone still waiting for a decision.

I saw that as well. I would have been so mad.

hey guys! Does anyone have orientation november 27th? Also, are we supposed to be registering for classes yet? I'm unsure what to do and would so appreciate any help!!!

Also if theres a whatsapp group chat for generic program at medical campus please add me if possible:))) 305 979 2290

Hi guys the orientation today was awesome and scary at the same time. Read , read, read, study study study. It was so nice that i got to see my old classmates today. Even though some of us were compliant. We were told that the earliest we could register is 11/22/17. Congratulations everyone once again the journey has just began.

What did you do during orientation? How was it? I have mine Nov 27th and I'm pretty excited lol

They gave us a planner, the schedule for classes and clinicals , and booklist,

New with tags- MDC Nursing program scrubs- one complete set in green, size Medium. Green pants and top and one white top for clinical rotation. Purchased at MDC medical campus. Green top originally 34.00 asking $20.00. Pants originally 25.00 asking $15.00 and white clinical top originally $41.00 asking $30.00. These scrubs never go on sale so this is a great deal. Can buy separately or all together. $65.00 for everything that originally costs $100 plus tax.

Finally compliant on Complio! Is everyone else too?

Hi Natalieg:

I am finishing my first semester at Homestead campus and my schedule is: Tuesday 8:00-12:30 Wednesday 10:00-12:45 Thursday 11:00-1:45 Friday clinicals 7:00-3:00pm. I'm off on Mondays. You can pick earlier classes than what I have for some. Others like Tuesday classes math and fundamentals were the only choice.

It's five classes for FT generic but don't freak out some are easier than others and you can do it! You guys can go to the mdc website and under spring 2018 under nursing you can see availability of courses. Good luck to all of you. :)

Your schedule is pretty good! Do you work by any chance? Do you think working 10-13 hours a week would be too much on top of school?

Yes it is, I don't work but others in the program do and they are doing just fine. I have kids though so I am very busy all the time. I think you should be fine. :)
