Spring 2018 MDC Nursing Program

Published

My journey started from cna, lpn now,I applied for spring 2018 nursing bridge program. I am looking forward to what it has to offer and the challenges ahead. Anything is possible if you work hard and be persistence in reaching every goal you set for yourself. Always keep a positive mind.

Hey! I was accepted for the accelerated as well for the fall. I was wondering if you could tell me how the program is going so far. Is it doable, and is the first semester really 21 credits ?

Nothing is ever impossible. I will tell you that we got a lot of Accelerated people switching to generic this semester. It's ALOT. I was giving someone advice last week (a student that was taking HSC and was going to apply afterwards) and was advising her that generic is only one more semester and Generic is a lot so I was recommending Generic. All of a sudden an accelerated student turned the corner and told her "Do generic, Accerlrreated is a lot". I'm not saying it's not doable. I'm saying that it's just one semester. My thought process was that it was just one semester longer and it wasn't too horrible to wait a few months more.

Congrats though! If you do decide to go with Accerated, don't work. You'll be more successful if you don't work. :)

Hello, I have been reading all of your posts. I applied for this spring and I am anxiously waiting. Please can you tell me about the bridge program? Is it as difficult as they say?

Good luck! I wish I knew more about bridge program but I'm in Full time Generic so I am not familiar with it

Anyone interested in selling their books?

Hello, I have been accepted to the nursing program at the medical campus. Have anybody heard any good reviews or has taken these professors Henry, Hanna, El Khoy, Muniz, crevecoeur, Davis, Braide or Mitchell Levey?

I already did that. Not enough reviews or no reviews.

Peds with Macdonald has been absolutely amazing!!!!! She is similar to Blanco who is also an exceptional teacher!!! I heard horror stories about Macdonald from the last semester that took her but the reason why they did not do well (according to some of the other students from that same class) was that they never bought the book and they went by ONLY the powerpoints. One important lesson is to NEVER depend only on powerpoints. Professors cannot possibly go over everything in two classes a week that a nurse needs to know. You NEED to read the content in the chapter they have specified to read. SO FAR THE BEST CLASS!!!!!! Aside from Blancos :)

Make sure you create a group and analyze and make sense of each paragraph from the list on the syllabus. Helps a ton!!!! Do questions and make sure you take EVERY SINGLE graph from growth and development and know each developmental stage, also....know Ericksons and Freud and what kids do in those stages!!! These will be in EVERY SINGLE TEST!

ALSO.....THE BEST CLINICAL PROFESSOR!!!!!!! I LOVE BEING ABLE TO FREELY SPEAK WITHOUT FEAR and not feel belittled. She is great!

GOOD LUCK :)
