Spring 2011 Hopefuls!!

Published

Everyone, Hello,

This thread is created for anyone who is applying for a 2011 Nursing School Program! We can await our fates together. I think that waiting is going to be the hardest part! I am applying to a Community College for an ADN RN program. Applications are due Sept. 20th and we should know by early Novemeber!! My school just told me that they may also consider a math class that I took (with a higher grade) over College Algebra, which would significantly raise my GPA! I am hopeful!! Where is everyone else applying and when will you potentially find out?!

It's so nice to see so many others in the WAITING process. It feels like my life has been on hold trying to plan around nursing school. I have applied three times to ARC, SCC and Sierra. I am so hoping that I get good news in the next few weeks. Best of luck and patience to all of you:-)

wannabnurs, I am also taking the last 4 classes for my AA.

My classes are online at VCC -- It's quite difficult to concentrate...

I'm also taking the time to clean my house and get rid of extra stuff!! I heard

that if I make it to the SSC/UCF program I won't have anytime to clean ;)

Also, looking into some casserole recipes I can make ahead...lol... hope I'm preparing

for good news!!!

Wow! There's just 70 avail for the concurrent applicants..that's doesn't seem like many. Now I'm really getting nervous.

I just applied at Macon State College, for the RN program. I am scared silly! I know I am going to have to take several pre reqs, but we will know soon, I have no idea what I am doing, so any advice would be great!

rmcconnon,

Good Luck with those pre-reqs. I plan to do a Spring Cleaning as soon as Graduation is over on Dec. 10th. I am right there with you on the casseroles...lol I have also heard that if the people who are close to you don't commit to the Nursing program right along with you, that it could lead to marital and / or relationship problems??????? I have tried to prepare my husband and kids as much as possible. But at the end of the day, I'm not just doing this for me, I'm also doing it for them..

GoodLuck!

Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Specializes in SN - Graduating December, 2012.

I recently got accepted into the ADN program at my community college and I am so excited! I have completed all the paperwork given me so far (background check, titer, physical, and immunizations) - I am sure there's more to come...but I am very excited and wish everyone the absolute best luck and wishes in your future careers!

Specializes in BSN Class of May 2013.

I applied to Northern Arizona University. I should get "THE LETTER" any time w/in the next week or two. The anticipation is making me crazy!! :0) I can't wait to start the program!!!

I am thrilled to say that my wait is over. I start the ADN program at Wallace Community College January 12, 2011!! To celebrate getting my acceptance letter/packet, I went to the store and got my first set of scrubs and a lab coat. May your thick letters arrive sooooon!

Now the real fun begins :-)

wannabnurse, I am so afraid the nursing program might lead to marital problems like you said -- that's why I'm trying to leave everything as organize as I can to make my life easier... My hubby is not too happy of me going to nursing program since I have never worked since I got married (23 years ago! : ) But, my kids are gone to college now and this is my time! He encourages me to go, but worries how it will affect us. I will try my best to make it work!

Now I only need to get that thick envelope!!...lol
