Spring 09 Hopefuls

I wanted to start a support thread for all of us that will be applying for the Spring 09 start. My hope is that we keep this thread alive through the process and keep each other encouraged! Nursing School is hard enough to get into!

Where are you applying?

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice?

When is your schools deadline?

When does the acceptance letters go out?

What is your plan A, B, C...?

I'm assuming it'll be the BSN because I already have a degree, but I know that I'm missing the Chem 2 as well, and that's what I'm worried about. I wanted to start clinicals this Spring and not have to put it off over one class. Do they expect me to spend a semester taking one class with them and THEN starting the clinicals? If that's the case, I hope I get into one of the other programs I applied to. The other two did not require Chem 2.

I'm going to also speak to them in person and see if I can get another science class I've taken accepted as credit. This program is going to be expensive as is, so I don't want to spend more for one class.

I have all sciences execpt chemistry 2- Im so confused....i have to speak to them- I understand what you are saying- most BSN requires 2 Chem- maybe for the accelarated Programs is different- Im waiting for the official letter/package to see what's the next step- the lady told me that they are not registering new students yet and to start getting my Financial aid in order.

did you apply for aid? I'm assuming it comes separately (a financial aid package) from ur acceptance letter.

I did go to their open house this past weekend and it honestly looks like a great program, I just need to get this pre-re stuff figured out.

No I didn't- Im in the same boat girl- I live in Long Island and I'm willing to commute- I'm a transfer student so they told me add the school code and call them in a few days- do you get you pacakage once you accept or before????? this is my first time going to another college- I applied there because it looks like a good program and i have heard it from other ppl too. Plus is it in the city,it offers BSN ( where my Community college does not)-

I hope that the letter will tell me more info!

OMG.....I got a call today from the nursing school. A few people decided to decline and I have been officially offered a seat in the nursing school. I AM IN!!!! I went to the school and signed all of my paperwork. I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Congrats!! It must feel great to know you're in and on your way.

I got my official acceptance from LIU today. They want a response by December 1st!! Does that seem absurdly soon to anyone else? I haven't even heard from my other two schools, and December 1st is like less than 2 weeks away. And I still don't know what they took for transfer credit yet. I should be happy I got into a school and instead I have to scramble around to figure this crap out. :uhoh3:
