Such a boost to hear you all talk about graduation!! I have only just finished my first semester with 3 more to go, but it gives me momentum to go on to hear everyone talking about how excited they are about reaching the end!! If the next 3 semesters go as fast as this one did....it will be no time till I'm in the same boat as you guys!

Good Luck and Congrats to all of you graduating this spring!!

Leah

Seems like just yesterday, I was here reading these posts, following my 1st or 2nd semester, just like you. The time really does fly. Just not fast enough for an old, impatient dude like myself. :coollook:

I understand the old and impatient thing all too well!!! But looks like your almost there!!! :yeah:

Are you from Tx?? If so what part? Thinking of relocating after school and Tx is an area we were looking at.

Good Luck to you!

I'm originally from East Texas, near Tyler. Lived in Huntsville for a long time, working for the prison system. Currently living in the crappy, run-for-your-life-in-the-other-direction Rio Grande Valley, but we're moving as soon as I graduate (May 2009) and my wife's contract is up (June 2009).

We're either going back to Tyler, or to Austin (or possibly Houston). We have grandkids in San Antonio, but I don't want to live there...so we're leaning toward Austin (less than 2 hours from SA).

Thanks so much!!!! I needed those words of encouragement. Im was kinda getting down on myself, because even though I'll done with school in five months, I know finding a job will take a looooong time!!!!:wtosts:

We have looked at Tyler as well.....seems like an all around great kind of area! I have a brother in Sherman, but hubby and I are also hunters so have to look at all those aspects....lol. We're both kinda small town kinda people, so maybe the outskirts of some of the big cities were appealing. I have family in San Antonio as well, but not a huge urge to live there.

You know anything about the pay aroung Tyler?? Seems like it all just depends on who you ask about what pay is in different places.

The pay in Tyler is going to be less than in the major metros like Austin, Houston, and Dallas, due to it being a rural area. However, the hospitals are said to be great to work for, and the cost of living in Tyler is much less than in the big cities. And Tyler is a great little city.

May 8, 2009 is calling my name. I can't wait to walk across that stage. It has been a long hard road. These past 3 semesters have flown by and this last 1 seems like it will also. I'm taking Med-Surg III and Trends & Issues. I hope we all get through this semester and pass boards on the 1st time. We can do it!!!
