Specializes in CVICU/ER.

I'm an extern in a very busy trauma 1 ER, my immersion for my final semester is a cardiac ICU....I don't have a smiley that represents me. I just want this crap over.

Specializes in Telemetry.

I am done with preceptorship and doing my NCLEX review. Graduation January 30, 2010. I am so excited!

Specializes in Dialysis.

My last clinical with my awesome group will likely be in community health/home health. Probably more med/surg for good measure! They haven't really told us much yet, and everything is always up in the air until the last minute. :uhoh3: Ah well, roll with the program 'til May!

My preceptorship is in ambulatory surgery/perianesthesia. Hoping to learn a lot there!

Graduation will be incredible. Then I can get on with the GN position I just accepted in dialysis! :D

Community rotations.

Does your program have a preceptorship during the last semester? If so, in which area would you like to do your preceptorship?

We do. I asked to be placed in women's health, med-surg, or ER. I have a feeling the majority of my class will get med-surg, which is fine as long as it's not at the same hospital I had during that rotation.

I am hoping to delve right into the NICU upon graduation, but I'm getting nervous... doesn't seem to be many positions available! I can't wait for my preceptorship this semester! Of course if I'll be doing NICU if I get approved for that area....

Yes! We were allowed to list three, and they put us where they can. We haven't found out where we will be yet. I put: COU, Med/Surg floor, and Peds. I would LOVE to do peds--but it is hard to get a perceptorship for that. So, we will see.
