Spring 2013 Admission

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Just submitted my application for the spring 2013 semester, so now I get to wait for my acceptance/rejection letter starting today! (way to make time move slower) Anyone waiting with me?

My deadline was June 15. They said that letters will go out at the end of August!

Ugh! The wait sucks doesn't it? What do you think of your chances?

My first deadline for the ADN was june 29th.. Im going to applying to many ADN programs around me.. most of the deadlines are around august september..

I hope i get in somewhere! considering my GPA isnt the best..

So far so good. We haven't had any exams yet, but I feel like I have learned so much in just one week!!

School application windows & deadlines obviously vary all over the lot, from what everyone has said.

One local-area school starts a day class in June, and a smaller evening-w/e class in January. When I inquired in August last year, the class beginning next June was already full. It sounded as if there is no real application deadline, but that qualified applicants are accepted in the order applications are received, until the class has been filled. So, there, one applies at least a full year in advance, probably more than that.

Good luck to everyone, and try to remember: agonizing over the outcome, will not change it. It will be, what it will be. I'd say that in Spanish, but we're required to post in English.

Sounds like your school works on a wait list system. Mine is on a point system. You can't apply before the application window, and if you aren't accepted you have to reapply the next term.

I expect letters to go out around the end of September. The last Teas test offered for this application is August 15, so I don't think they'll start reviewing until then.

Anyone else antsy? I see all these posts from those who are starting next month & I'm raring to go! I'm ready to get into the intense stuff. Crazy, I know...

I'm extremely antsy to start too. At least I take the fundamentals class in the fall. It's just a CNA course so it doesn't require state Bon approval. We have to wear the BSN uniforms, name-tags, and have clinicals at a nursing home. I hope that helps with my impatience.

I have to take a CNA course this fall as well. It's only 6 weeks though. :-( I have some books that I'm going to study. My neighbor is going into her 3rd semester & gave me the first semester power points so I'm going to study those as well. I want to be ahead of the game so I don't feel so overwhelmed.

Oh yeah, I bet it will be fun wearing the uniform & having clinical at a LTC facility. I think we're just doing ours in a classroom. :-(

And sorry for the double post. I forgot we could edit. Lol

Unfortunately for me, the very first BSN class starts in August and is very very different from the ASN classes that preceded it. I have a friend that's in the last ASN class admitted. They use physical books while the BSN program will require us to have laptops and will exclusively use ebooks. We have new, way better looking uniforms.

We can get our CNA certificate without any extra tests or fees after this class, and my state requires 80 hours of clinicals to get your CNA certificate. But we have to wear the uniforms to lab also.
