Southwestern College ADN Fall 2020

Hey guys. Making this for those who are applying to SWC’s (Chula Vista, CA) ADN program for Fall 2020. Application period starts soon (November 4)! Write your questions to help each other out throughout the application period. If you want, post the amount of points you have in the point system.

Here’s the amount of points I have

Associates Degree - 5 points

CNA Certification - 25 points

Science Prereq GPA - 30 points (4.0 GPA)

”Fixed Set” GPA - 8 points (3.9 GPA)

Life Experience - 3 points

Language - 3 points (Spanish, documented proficiency)

TEAS test - 15-22 points ... I still need to take the TEAS. I want to give myself enough time!

So that puts me at 89-96/100 points.

Years of hard work into one packet... and now we wait.

I was thinking they should be contacting some alternates soon since the due date for all the forms to be turned in was yesterday, right?

I’m trying to get ahold of someone from southwestern for information about the up coming application does anyone have a number or email? I emailed someone and no response and can’t get anyone on the phone because covid

Oh yea huh! Hopefully they will contact us soon! I know we’re all anxious ? but according to --------------------, if we still don’t hear anything. It could take up to the first week of class which is I believe August 10th.

Yeah, I’m hoping to get called before August so I can notify my work about me switching to Pier Diem ??

Same!! I wish they were able to tell us where we are on the alternate list to know how good of a chance we have at getting in..

Hi guys,

Do you guys know (maybe I didn’t hear in orientation) when we will get our schedules assigned and get enrolled in the courses?

I graduated from SWC in 2019, and just so you guys know-they are super disorganized and last minute with just about everything. They all contradict each other constantly. It was a very frustrating experience. So get used to flying by the seat of your pants!

Alternates... I emailed the program tech for any updates for us and she said all alternates are still being considered and there are no updates at this time. She said she does not know the chances of us getting in.
