Hey guys. Making this for those who are applying to SWC’s (Chula Vista, CA) ADN program for Fall 2020. Application period starts soon (November 4)! Write your questions to help each other out throughout the application period. If you want, post the amount of points you have in the point system.
Here’s the amount of points I have
Associates Degree - 5 points
CNA Certification - 25 points
Science Prereq GPA - 30 points (4.0 GPA)
”Fixed Set” GPA - 8 points (3.9 GPA)

Good luck to you all. You guys got this.

But I’m glad she responded to you. “She doesn’t know the chances of us getting in” I don’t know if that’s a good thing ? considering that Grossmont doesn’t have a plan for the program.
I know ? I asked her if she could disclose the chances of us actually getting in. And she said there is no way of knowing what the chances are. I’m not sure what to think right now. I’m trying to stay hopeful...

Nope, still have not heard anything. But I was also thinking the same thing that maybe because Swc is the only school continuing nursing. But I was also thinking if maybe they are going to let the alternates know all at the same time perhaps? I was planning on emailing -------------------- this week to ask that question. I’m getting anxious as it’s getting closer to the semester?
Seems like no one is hearing back. I’m not an alternate but we haven’t heard anything either at all regarding the documents we were supposed to turn in by June 30 or the schedules either. I was assuming they would keep us updated but no. I thought maybe they were not going to proceed because of how COVID is worsening but she said it’s very unlikely they’ll cancel or push back the start date of August 10. Problem is alternates don’t know anything and us in the program can’t make arrangements either work availability wise because we do not know our schedule/ books, etc and we start in 2-3 weeks.

It does make me feel somewhat better that the ones accepted haven’t gotten their schedule yet.. so maybe they are still trying to figure everything out. Fingers crossed ??
I emailed ---------------------, alternates are still being considered. They get notified one at a time. Let’s just keep praying and think positive. It’s only a few more weeks of waiting. Keeping fingers crossed for us ?? ??????

Your not the only one ? I’m impatient and anxious and frustrated. The cohort is slowly getting all their schedules per the facebook group. I’m not sure if you guys are in the group but they are all slowly getting their fall schedules. It’s getting closer and the anxiety is getting too real. I’m trying to not lose hope but praying for the best ??????

Are there availabilities for both morning and afternoon classes? According to some people on the group. Some are still waiting on their schedules.
