Southwestern College ADN Fall 2020

Hey guys. Making this for those who are applying to SWC’s (Chula Vista, CA) ADN program for Fall 2020. Application period starts soon (November 4)! Write your questions to help each other out throughout the application period. If you want, post the amount of points you have in the point system.

Here’s the amount of points I have

Associates Degree - 5 points

CNA Certification - 25 points

Science Prereq GPA - 30 points (4.0 GPA)

”Fixed Set” GPA - 8 points (3.9 GPA)

Life Experience - 3 points

Language - 3 points (Spanish, documented proficiency)

TEAS test - 15-22 points ... I still need to take the TEAS. I want to give myself enough time!

So that puts me at 89-96/100 points.

Years of hard work into one packet... and now we wait.

Hey there ! I’ll be submitting my application early December . Any other LVN’s applying for the step-up program ? I just went to the info session last week & found out that there’s preference for LVNs with their blood withdrawal certificates ! I have about 80-82 points but I’m hoping that’s what really gets me in . Best of luck to you !!

Hey, guys! I read your comments a long time ago but didn’t reply lol. I’m too focused on the TEAS. I forgot about the SWC’s info sessions ?... doubt they’ll have another before application period ends.

Just a heads up.. there’s a 50% discount for the ATI TEAS SmartPrep tutorial and it expires December 2 (I think).

Seeing that the CNA cert is worth 1/4 of the points, it looks like they would HIGHLY PREFER a CNA.

I really feel like this is a question for the Nursing Program tho. I would give them a call just to make sure (ask them about your chances, etc). Are you applying to other San Diego ADN programs?

Guys.. if can someone can answer my questions please.

1: Do we have to mail our official transcript from previous school directly to SWC and it has to be evaluated before we submit the application? we are not allow to just submit our unofficial transcript along with the application?

@Due I don't know for sure but I would send official transcripts and have it evaluated before submitting application.

Does anyone know if we can retake the TEAS more than once? Or will SWC only take the first passing score (>62%)?
