Hey guys. Making this for those who are applying to SWC’s (Chula Vista, CA) ADN program for Fall 2020. Application period starts soon (November 4)! Write your questions to help each other out throughout the application period. If you want, post the amount of points you have in the point system.
Here’s the amount of points I have
Associates Degree - 5 points
CNA Certification - 25 points
Science Prereq GPA - 30 points (4.0 GPA)
”Fixed Set” GPA - 8 points (3.9 GPA)
Life Experience - 3 points
Language - 3 points (Spanish, documented proficiency)
TEAS test - 15-22 points ... I still need to take the TEAS. I want to give myself enough time!
So that puts me at 89-96/100 points.
Years of hard work into one packet... and now we wait.
To all you alternates.. NEVER GIVE UP! Just like Naruto Uzumaki says Believe it! I graduated this year and was the last alternate on the list. Whatever happens in the end, I repeat do not give up. It will all be worth it in the end. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Best of Luck to all of you and your future endeavors.
In my cohort, If I'm not mistaken I believe like 15-20 of us were alternates and we all got in. They literally called me like 2 days before class started. Everything happened so fast. So remember they can literally call you anytime from today and up to August to whatever the start day is. So just keep your mind distracted until then. Good luck ?

Correct! She says usually within the first week when they start. At the moment she says all alternates are still being considered. So I think they are still waiting to notify alternates when there is a spot available.

hey! I was wondering is there a limit on how many times you can retake your sciences?
You’re only allowed to retake one. If you want to take another one but already have more than one retake, you would probably have to wait for some courses to expire.

There must be a loophole or other way around it. See if you can take it from a different school/ accredited institution. Just a suggestion!
For those who also applied at Grossmont, did they call you yet? I am wondering if they mentioned when they will reopen. I am an alternate and planning to apply for the Spring semester at Grossmont (if I don't get in at SWC) but I am not sure if they will have it.
