Southwestern College ADN Fall 2020

Published

Hey guys. Making this for those who are applying to SWC’s (Chula Vista, CA) ADN program for Fall 2020. Application period starts soon (November 4)! Write your questions to help each other out throughout the application period. If you want, post the amount of points you have in the point system.

Here’s the amount of points I have

Associates Degree - 5 points

CNA Certification - 25 points

Science Prereq GPA - 30 points (4.0 GPA)

”Fixed Set” GPA - 8 points (3.9 GPA)

Life Experience - 3 points

Language - 3 points (Spanish, documented proficiency)

TEAS test - 15-22 points ... I still need to take the TEAS. I want to give myself enough time!

So that puts me at 89-96/100 points.

Years of hard work into one packet... and now we wait.

Good luck to you all. You guys got this.

I'm guessing about 20 considering there was 85-90 participants and normally 60 students are accepted.

Yes its like 15 because there were 10+ teachers and the students from the other cohorts, which were like 6. I think the most participants were 92.

Guys, what’s the website to pay for the malpractice?

Thank you so much (:!!

Does anyone know if the SWC LVN program is first come first serve? I tried looking up a points system but couldnt find how they determined who got in

For those who have been accepted, have they told you when the first day of class is?

Yes. I did. That’s why I’m a bit confused on why alternates are saying they had 80-81 points. I honestly estimated a maximum of 80 points total for myself and I'm accepted

Hi, I totalled my points to 84points but I was chosen as an alternate. If they did however grant me all my points. I have my associates, 4.0 on my prerequisites, I’m a CNA, and under the life circumstances I’ve accumulated at least 5 points. But I didn’t do to great on my TEAS however I did raise all my points. But I’m still confused how others with 80-81 got in.

Have any alternates received a call?

I been checking my email everyday. Nothing. I’m curious if they will let us know as soon as possible. I’m keeping fingers crossed.

That’s so weird... you’d figure you would have gotten in with those points. Well, I’m guessing you’re one of the firsts on the alternate list then maybe! I wonder when they will let us know.. Hopefully, soon. I’ve been checking my email constantly too ??

To all you alternates.. NEVER GIVE UP! Just like Naruto Uzumaki says Believe it! I graduated this year and was the last alternate on the list. Whatever happens in the end, I repeat do not give up. It will all be worth it in the end. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Best of Luck to all of you and your future endeavors.

Thank you for the positivity!

How many alternates were there for your cohort? How do you know you were last? Bc Lorena won’t tell us what number alternate we are. Around when did they contact you regarding being accepted?
