Does anyone here have any compassion? This nurse obviously has a problem and she needs help. Enough with the "TERMINATE, TERMINATE, TERMINATE" responses. sheeeesh. Yes, what she did is very serious. It's wrong. She has a problem. I hope she gets the help that she so obviously needs.
I lost my compassion the minute I read that she forged someones signature, and tried to drag them into her problem. I think the people calling for termination are doing so because she forged another nurses signature which is flat out wrong.
Another vote for "terminate, terminate, terminate" here.

i also wrote she needed an intervention, if you look above.
but aside from getting help for her drug problem, yes, she does need to be let go from her position. she has now committed fraud against another person.
drugs make you do stupid things. i hope she gets help too. but it is still not an offense that she can be excused of at this time.

You realize if there was an audit and a missing narc problem came up with Kermitlady's forged name on it & she hadn't realized her sig had been forged, she could have lost her license? And maybe gone to jail?
It's one thing to screw yourself. It's another to do it to someone else.

Yep, it happened to me. Another nurse forged my signature on a narcotic sheet! I'm pretty certain I know who it was and am not real pleased with the nurse at the moment (obviously!). It wasn't just my name either.
I feel betrayed, hurt, angry, taken advantage of, etc.
I don't think I'll be able to talk to this nurse in a civilized manner anymore.
The one good thing is we saw this at the beginning of our shift and brought it to the DON's attention immediately.
