Hello,I have been reading many threads about people who can't find work.I know that not everyone is able to pack up and move,but for those that can-which states are currently hiring Nurses? Thanks.

I'm in New York (not city) and I still see openings all the time....I didn't even know they WEREN'T hiring in some states.

The jobs are out there for new grads, but not at the hospitals. Go to LTC and you will usually find more jobs...

If NC is hiring, I would like to know where. I live in Hickory, NC and there are no hospitals in this area hiring. Most of them are on hiring freezes.

I'm near raleigh, south of raleigh NC and we have many areas that are short in NC

I live in Wisconsin and there are openings. The "thing" I find is that they are hiring casual, so they don't have to pay benefits. I am casual and can work my 3 12's no problem. I have my hubby's benefits, so I can pick my schedule. No weekends or holidays. Not too bad of a deal. Good luck...

Where in NY are you?

I'm in the Hudson Valley area and they have been hiring new grads, esp in state hospitals (I believe there are 3 in the area). 2 friends who graduated in Dec got accepted in the the VA hosp. There are tons of openings for LTC facilities. The hospitals did eliminate bonuses and tuition reimbursements but they are hiring. I think it helps that my community college is the only school serving two counties with a small graduating class every semester.
