JessyRN, I don't think you understand what I'm saying. I agree with the OP! It's ok that people make small mistakes as long as they try their best. And so many people are nitpicking when they have errors themselves. Sorry if it was unclear.

Just my I can point out at least one error in almost every post on this thread, and I bet you can find one (or more on mine). Who cares? It's readable, which is key. Plus, people, you criticize and then you leave "................" everywhere, or put punctuation outside quotation marks, use the wrong "there," et cetera. I'm all for some "..." but lets not be the pot calling the kettle black. Write to the best of your ability. I think it's most important that you try!

I have the Reebocks, and there's a slight difference in my lower legs.. but I'm not sure if thats due to working out or the sneaker. And not so much difference anywhere else. Comfy though! I'm definitely not upset about the purchase.

I'm not a nurse (yet!), but I do know a lot about busy schedules. Just find the time to exercise. The pedometer is a phenomenal idea, because walking is a great way to maintain your current weight or to maintain weight loss. Watch your caloric intake, like don't over eat.. as obvious as it sounds, for some (like me), it's easier said than done. Diet and exercise together are essential for healthy weight-loss. Set limits and weight wont be an issue. Avoid the treats other people bring in. Set up a routine, take advantage of your days off. You can do it! :)

I posted something similar.. not exactly the same situation, but I really understand where you're coming from. I think at the end of the day, you have to be happy. You have to be ok with yourself and then everything else will fall into place. The debt will be there if you're a nurse or not, and if you think you'll be happier as one, go for it! Especially because your husband is supportive. If you can swing it, do it. Good luck!

My families finances are really not important here, but I will be coming from close by and I'm not factoring things like rent, groceries, etc. I'm just trying to figure out what type of loan I would have to take out if I did get into this program.

Thats good to know! Thank you both. I was wondering about that figure too.. I found that each credit is about 1100 and it's a 60 credit program, so it would be closer to 70. I'm interested in the program but I'd want to wait a while before getting a masters degree.. by the time I'm done with the ABSN (if I get in, fingers crossed) I'll have been in school full time for the last 20 years..... and I need a break.

Do you have to get your Masters with this program or can you just go for the BSN? I can't seem to find this information anywhere! I'm interested in the program and want to contact admissions, but I do not want to ask this and sound stupid when they say, "Uhhhh no." .. I'd rather all of you do that instead

I'm going to have debt like that by the time I finish college and my ABSN. I'm not planning on buying a new car right after I graduate, and I'm also hoping I land a job in or around NYC (where I come from), and I can realistically pay off my debt in 5 years or so. It's a strict budget and serious planning; I'll be sacrificing a LOT, and I know that life sometimes throws you curve-balls, but it's doable. If I can't get a job in NY as planned... it's off to the Army I go. :) (IF anyone's interested, read about what they have to offer, it's fantastic, and you'll be helping our nation's finest.)

Hey All, According to Concordia's website: http://www.concordia-ny.edu/assets/pdf/admission/nursing/accreditation.pdf "Accreditation Status Update The Division of Nursing at Concordia College New York hosted a successful Collegiate Commission on Nursing (CCNE) accreditation visit November 11th through 13th. The Evaluation Team report indicates that all CCNE Standards have been met and that there are no compliance concerns. The team report will be considered at the meeting of the Accreditation Review Committee (ARC) on February 11-13, 2010. This committee will formulate a recommendation about accreditation, which will be considered by the CCNE Board at its meeting on April 22-24, 2010. " So it will be soon! I'm looking to apply for Fall 2011, especially if the accreditation goes through!

Brenda10: I'm 22! I am graduating from college next month and am trying to get my prerecs done over the next year so I can get my butt into a accelerated program! It's really exciting. I know I have so much hard work ahead of me, but right now I'm just riding on this high (although, ask me in 2 months how I feel...) And Beingthankful, I understand being a little nervous, but in most cases hard work an dedication does an awful lot. A lot of colleges have academic help centers if the course load or work gets overwhelming. You can also test the waters taking or auditing a bio 101 or something like that. It will help you test the academic waters without having it count for a nursing program. I am SO excited though I cant wait to just jump in. Thank you guys so much for the well wishes! YOU TOO.
