SO jobs?

I am planning on becoming a travel nurse after I graduate school and get some experience. I am married, so my husband would be coming with me. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas or suggestions about what kind of job he could do with us moving around every 3-6 months. I know most online jobs, but what specifically? TIA

Does he hold any degree or special skill set?

Not really...he's a hard worker and has been a plant operator and now working as a road and bridge operator, but no degree or training that is easily transferable.

My husband travels with me. He finds jobs online and applies as soon as we know where we're going. Delivery drivers are always in need; my husband works for a medical supply distributor right now delivering pumps and vents and such. Construction jobs are easy to find depending on the climate you're traveling to, and he can always contact a temp agency in the area you're working in. It just depends on what your husband wants to do and where you travel. If your husband is ok taking any job to pay the bills and have something to do, you won't have a problem. If he's looking for jobs that advance his career, I recommend he manage his expectations. I didn't really appreciate when we started traveling how frustrating it would be for my husband to have to "settle" for jobs he's way overqualified for. We knew ahead of time that's how it would be, but we didn't really know how he'd feel. Just some food for thought.

I've heard you can't drive for uber in a state you don't have a drivers license in, and I doubt your husband is going to want to change his drivers' license with each move. Not sure if that's true, or if it is, if the rules are the same for lyft or postmates.

$50 bucks for a driver's license to enable a job seems worth the hassle and cost. But not exactly a great job, and the pay may not even be worth the wear and tear on a car.

I would look into courier drivers. He could go to the nearest work force center I believe each state has a designated center where you can find local jobs even if they are temporary (this is what you want). If he has any specific training I would advertise for that say dog walker. There are a lot of people who need temporary assistance. I would pay for a dog walker up to 3 times per week for say an hour walk. Maybe the facility where you will be working needs a temp worker for a project. I followed my spouse all over the world while placing my career on hold. I was an interim administrator and DON for a major LTC organization and loved the freedom it gave me while able to work temp medical jobs. I also worked as an Army nurse and in the emergency room training for flight nurse. My career has suffered as far as advancement other than Administrator, but I would not take back the time my husband and I spend together.

This is true. Your car must also be registered in the state you're driving in as well.

Transcriber - Generally work from home and you are paid per project you complete so if you are able to type quickly and accurately it can be lucrative. Take media documents from court, medical records, or other scenarios and transcribe them into a text document for your client.

Courier - As others have mentioned there is always a high demand for these positions. However, medical specific couriers could be an option you explore such as LabCorp, Quest, Mayo, etc. This could allow your SO to transfer to other locations with a job already secured since these major companies are located throughout the U.S and generally are always hiring.

Tutor - If your SO has a subject they are passionate about they could sign up to be a tutor through various sites/applications where the clients are set up for you. No professional degree is required and the pay can be great depending on the area of study.

Recruiter - If your SO is up for sales he could become a remote recruiter for travel nursing or other fields.

Dog Walker/Sitter - WAG/ROVER are 2 applications that set up clients for you very similar to UBER/LYFT except they are for dog walks or dog sitting.

Based on your SO's area of expertise they could sign up for a job placement agency to find them appropriate work in each area you travel too.
