So.... How many years have YOU been a nurse??

Searchin for the longest experienced nurse out there. Was just wondering as I was thinking about all the tremendous changes nursing has brought about through out the years. Nursing doesn't seem the same as it was 16 yrs ago ( For myself ), or even 10 or even 5 years ago!

I became a nurse in my early 30s a late bloomer, that was 13 years ago.

Does my AUNT count? She has been a nurse since graduating diploma school in 1961. YES SHE IS STILL ACTIVELY PRACTICING IN PEDS NURSING!!!!!!!

( i have been a nurse 6 years...graduated may 9, 1997).....big deal i know lol.

31 years.......my feet hurt!! lol

qualified as a state registered nurse in Dec 1982- my mum is still working as a nurse and she qualified in Dec 1957! thinks she deserves a long service medal!!

I was a CNA before becoming a nurse and have been a nurse since 1994. Almost 10 years- where has the time gone??:)

1 yr as a candy striper, 6 months as a CNA and 11.5 yrs as an RN..........and it seems so long ago some days and yet others it seems like yesterday. God bless and congrats to all with 15+ yrs and high honors to those with 20+ You guys/gals are my heroes.

Me - 21 years (Damn, has it really be that long?)

My wife - 8 Years (she went to Nursing at 36 years of age, she had always wanted to be a Nurse)

My mom became a nurse in 1961, still working.

I passed my boards last October, started working in January. So I've been practicing 7 months. :)

I love nursing (hate the bulls@i# though).

30 years as a RN as of June 6, 1973.

Got the legs, feet, & back to prove it.
