So I am taking A+P I this fall and we had our first test today on Ch. 1-3. I am so glad it's over! The last week or so I have been cramming like crazy because sometimes I struggle with the first test in a class (you know: what is the teacher like, how detailed are the questions going to be, what parts does she focus on). I don't usually study a whole lot for tests, but for this one I studied a ton. There was so much information to learn and our teacher is not very good. She only "taught" chapter 3 for like 30 minutes of one class and then expected us to know it all for the test! (and her idea of teaching is going through the chapter and reading the bold terms straight out of the book )
Anyways, I think the test went pretty well - there were only 40 questions and there weren't really any that I had no idea of the answer to. I think that is a good sign. Now the waiting is killing me because I want to know what I got on it. I'm really hoping she has it for the next class because I don't think I will make it to next week!
Sorry for rambling on, but I just had to tell someone how I glad I am to have that weight off my chest! Now on to Ch. 4....

I know your pain. Except my first test is next week over five chapters. If you have any other difficult courses along with this one it is a real pain! I can hardly find enough time to study and I don't work!! I have college algebra, anatomy, and two other easier courses. I hope with all my heart I can pull out A's in all of them. I suck at math and Anatomy is sooo much info-- I am stressed out! I am currently making a B (I usually dont get b's). I also failed my lab quiz today because I couldnt figure out like 3 of the tissues of the slides. I can tell what they are based on textbook pictures- but put slides in front of me and it is crazy.
Sorry, I rambled! I know what you are going thru though!
Wow, five chapters! That is sooo much information! I have never studied so much for one class, but I know I have to because A+P is so important for nursing and I really want an A. I just hope it's worth it all in the end...but at least one test is out of the way and that makes all the others easier.
I am also taking Nutrition and Statistics this semester, but they are nowhere near as hard as Anatomy. I had my first Nutrition test yesterday so it was hard to balance my time between the two tests when all I really wanted to do was relax all weekend...aahhh!
Oh yeah, we were just doing tissues in lab, too :eek:They are so hard to figure out. I really hope my teacher just uses the pics from the book not the actual slides:up:

hey guys,
congrats sounds like all of you are working very hard. I am now in my last semester of nursing school and I remember A&P I absolutely hated it with a passion, I admit some of it was neat but most of it was not. I also remember how hard it was it sort of weeds out the people who don't want to be nurses. The good thing about it is if you make it through with good grades you probably have good study habits and a system of studying that works for you, which is very important especially when you get into your nursing classes. Just keep your head down eye on your goal and do your best.
My best to all of you!
Just a follow up...I got a 101!!
This gives me so much encouragement to keep pushing on...

ugh... I have my first exam on Monday, Chapters 1-4
I just can't believe how much information there is! I really wish they wouldn't have scheduled me for A & P, Chemistry, Psychology, Anthropology, and Chinese all in one semester. 17 credits is way overwhelming! My A&P lab alone is 3 hours long... I have my first exam in there on Thursday, so I'm really nervous about that... (Seriously, I have my A&P exam thursday, along with my first Chem exam, then Friday I have my first anthropology exam, and then on Monday I have A&P and Psych exams.. ugh!) My birthday is on Thursday and I had to tell my parents I couldn't go home, I had so much to study (and were I to go home I know I wouldn't study enough).. So I'm feeling way stressed...
Congrats on the good grade though :)! I hope I can do the same.. I'm just having trouble with the tissue chapter... I feel like I understand what is being taught, I just can't remember all the details.

I had my A&P 2nd lab class today and we just looked at tissue slides. I'm not sure how I will be able to identify them for our lab test in 2 wks as i didn't have time.
I'm guessing that i will have to go to the Lrc And look again and take notes.
We are on chpt 3 in the lecture and it is a lot of info. I find that i have to go over the material at least 3 times before I am familiar with it. I feel pretty comfortable with chapter 1, shaky about chp 2 and have to spend more time on chapt 3.
We looked at so many tissue slides tonight from nervous, to cartilage, joint, muscle etc, a lot to remember.

I feel your pain! We had our first exam last week over 1-3 and I found out today I got a 98%! I'm so happy considering I have one of the worst teachers on the planet and I pretty much taught myself everything!!! Anything is possible!!!!

Hello All,
My first A&P test was last Thursday and I am anxious to see what my score is. I felt pretty good although my lecture instructor is teaching anatomical position, chemistry, and organic chemistry, and my lab instructor is drilling us on the 206 bones in the body. So I am all over the place in my text book.
Good luck to all those that await their test scores and Good JOB NICUdreamer11!
