SNOW!!!

Published

Love unexpected snow days, off Friday, again on Monday and then a 2hr delay this morning! We have 3 snow days built in that we don't get back if they are not used so I love having those unexpected days off. I got stuff accomplished at home and lots of grad school work done too! Of course I keep thinking it's Monday...

I just moved to ND from FL a few months ago. In the words of Illidan Stormrage...I was not prepared :bluecry1:

Although my sources say the winter up here has been very very weird this year. It was 45 on Saturday, and it's 7 today...and we got about 4 inches of snow overnight!

POLAR VORTEX!

Just less than 1/2 inch snow this week with temps below 10 in the mornings. Early dismissal on Monday, closed 2 days and a 2 hour delay today. Doesn't take much to shut down schools here with the twisting mountain roads.

Here in the dakotas it takes ALOT to call school off. Basically a full blown, can't see your hand in front of your face blizzard before its called off. Plenty of 2 hour late starts to let the plows clear off the roads. Kids go outside too unless actively raining, or such a degree below zero that its unsafe.

That sounds like how it is here though we don't have any 2 hour late starts. Classes always start at 8:20 but if it has snowed a lot during the night the teachers understand if the kids are a little late. Most don't live that far from school that they need to come here by car.
