SJRCC?

Published

I heard SJRCC has an RN program and it actually requires less pre reqs than FCCJ is this true? Is it better to do the nursing program at SJRCC I also heard you dont have to take a math class? wow I honestly think I would do anything to get out of college algebra at FCCJ. So has anybody looked into their program or pre reqs?

Too bad! Men's medium is too tight across the chest. Glad to see the nursing profession is attracting more men. I hate working with only women. Women have a tendency to be mean to each other for some reason.

Lol you will enjoy Nursing school, I notice that other classes had clicks, and groups. I'm glad that my class didn't have that problem. Let me know if you need an help with anything.

Congratulations to everyone!!! I guess we will be classmates in January!!! See you all soon!!!!:nurse:

Congratulations, all of you that were accepted. :yeah:

Sadly, I received the devastating news that I was not accepted. I am just lost and don't know what to do.... The new points system worked against me. I would have applied with 162 pts under the old system, but was dropped down to 133 with the new system. I have only gone to SJRCC, thus did not take College Algebra nor Chem, since it wasn't required. When my time-ticket came up for fall, the Professions of Caring classes were full, and I need to finish Int. Algebra before I can take College Algebra or chem. (Again, didn't take it earlier to focus on the classes that were required)...my point is that I don't think I stand a chance next app period either. I only had 3 B's, the rest A's...... I'm just sick and all I can do is cry....

Keep on going....don't GIVE UP!!! That is my advice for you....do whatever it takes and you will succeed!!! I don't know why they chose some people over others, I think it was very close for you...you are obviously determined and this is what you want. If you didn't have so much passion for nursing, you wouldn't be so upset.

I have been working on my pre-reqs for 4 years, I have been hospitalized 4 times and I had to stick it out, life can be difficult...but don't give up! Take Int. Algebra and Professions of Caring (that is 5 more pts)this semester, and next semester, if you need to, take Intro to Chem (12 pts) and maybe even College Alg, if you can (16 pts)...work your butt off and reapply until you get accepted...you can do it!!! Good Luck!!! :wink2: You will be a Registered Nurse...soon!!!

i agree, it really sucks that they changed the application right when we were about to apply, but stick through it. Try getting the CNA liscence, even though its only five points, that five points could make all the difference. Also try to see if fscj would be a possible school to appply to cause i believe they except more then a hundred people as appose to 36. I was wondering though if your letter said anything about what the cutt off might have been for points.

I believe FCCJ accepts about 140 students every semester. They require College Algebra and Chemistry as well. The way I understand the new "system" for SJRCC is that they weren't looking at points first. I believe first they looked at your GPA for pre-req classes, then scores of your NET/HESI exam, and lastly your number of points. Anyway...don't give up!!!

Graduated SJRCC nursing august 2009, passed nclex oct. 13!!! :yeah: :yeah: Out of the 20 or so of us that have taken nclex so far only 2 have failed. Nice to be really, really done. Good luck to all of you and one word of advice, stick together and have each others back. It is the only way you will make it thru. You have to work together. This schooling may be the hardest thing you've ever done and you need lots of support from each other. I had an awesome class that I went thru the program with, so I was very lucky. Definitely friends for life with many. Best of luck, stay positive and share the love... you can do it!!

How's the new RN grad job market? Are most of you finding jobs?
