  1. I'm not trying to discourage by any means, but my friend did all her pre reqs for the nursing program at FSCJ (I attend there too) and she passed all her pre reqs with a 3.9 and made a 100 on NAT ... and did not get it. She has applied for 3 different semesters with the same scores (a waste of time) and still has been declined. The RN program is VERY competitive, I'm sure you know. The best advice I can give you is to do what she is doing now and re take the classes you struggled in and try to make a high A. She made a B in college alegebra and shes going to retake it to get an A. (hopefully will increase her chances of getting in) The RN program in my opinion is screwed up because it not really based on grades its based on POINTS you can have a 3.0 or 2.9 but previously been a LPN and get in because of the point system. Anyway, good luck my dear I hope everything works out for you.

  3. No worries my dear. Just stay hopeful atleast your almost done with your pre reqs im no where near! my opinion on working and going to school is ... its probably something I would struggle with. my whole life I was told if you go to school and work one or the other will suffer. So Ive never attempted. Although so many people do it. My friend had 2 kids, worked full time, and went to college full time student. At that she made all A's. How the hell did she do it? I use to think of her as Erin Brockovich but the truth is there are MANY Erin Brockovichs! All I can say is there is some HARD working women out there and of course we're always takin for granted. What i would do is work part time and go to school. See how that schedule works out for you. I think you will be just fine :) Good luck on your application -Susan :redbeathe
  4. Thank you so much! So this is pretty much how i planned it. Tell me if you would do anything different. 5. I heard SJRCC has an RN program and it actually requires less pre reqs than FCCJ is this true? Is it better to do the nursing program at SJRCC I also heard you dont have to take a math class? wow I honestly think I would do anything to get out of college algebra at FCCJ. So has anybody looked into their program or pre reqs?
  6. What exactly are accelerated classes? how do i do them and will it be benificiary for me?
  7. Thanks so much guys. The information you gave really helped me. Right now im taking a math class along with communications and reading class. Somehow i scored low on reading on the CPT. I'm not sure how cause I had a college reading level in highschool. They tried telling me I should re take the test, but I told them I really didnt mind taking a reading class. It dont bother me. Anyway. I do want to try and go full time. If I go full time how long do you think it will take me? Still 2 years? Also is it better to do LPN and bridge over to RN cause alot of people have been telling me thats the way to go? any details on that? whats the difference?
  8. I just enrolled into fccj for the nursing program and ive been curious how difficult are these classes going to be. I have to take college algebra, humanities, A&P 1 & 2, chemistry, microbiology, english comp, phsycology, & human growth and development. I also have to take some communications class? (anybody know what the communications class is?) anyway how should i sort my semesters with these classes. how did all of you do it. I heard its best to mix hard classes with the easy ones. anyway also ive been reading other thread and have been alittle confused about the "points" for applying into the nursing program. i hear its competitive but what are these points and how do you get them? by simply making A's or what? thank you -Susan
  9. Listen people. Don't go to Concord. Unlike other people I have figured these schools out (Sanford Brown, Keiser, & Concord) due to my bad experience. You do NOT want to go to these schools. Please hear me out and let me explain. I went to a school called Heritage Institute located here in Jacksonville close to Keiser actually. Anyway I had went there to become a radiology technician. Turns out I was NEVER going to become an RT. I was going to be an MA and it was going to cost me $23,000 to do so. I withdrawed along with my entire class once they found out about the scam. There was no way I was going to pay that much money to make $10 or less an hour. I could make more money bartending. anyhow all these schools work the same exact way and being really good friends with someone who worked in admissions helped me find out the truth. First of all these schools are "TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE" if you havnt noticed first they will tell you its a fast track and blah blah no it winds up being a long route. specially if they want you to do MA first and then do this and just keep beating around the bush. Then secondly they will tell you your going to get a degree. YOUR NOT! its not a real degree its just a spiked up certificate in fact i heard that most of these programs you would never be able to be an RN in a hospital just at like a local family practice or something because they are NOT accredited! I swear! at that your credits at concord, sanford, and keiser will NOT transfer to any other school. .. hmm i wonder why because they are not accredited. When i left heritage and went to fccj they lady told me the school was not accredited at all and fccj explained to me that the degree that they offer was not a real degree. also at these schools you will never be able to get you BS or masters. FCCJ had also explained that alot of students from these schools like this are learning the truth and leaving and coming to FCCJ. Also they are very expensive. my program was $23,000 and i left in less than 2 month and owe them $4,000 thats insane. i looked into the other schools to see how much their RN programs were and they were talking $40,000 at all of them. FCCJ cost a fraction of that. but atleast i left when i did. your best bet is going to a community college where they are accredited and get into their program. even though it is competitive and hard to get into keep trying. im going to FCCJ right now and just started my pre reqs i know i have a long way to go but im young and i know i can do it. goodluck everyone please put what i said into consideration before attending these non accredited scam schools. contact me for my information if you would like.
