  1. I was wondering the same thing. I will be taking the test soon. Any hints or tips on what to study on?
  2. I wanted to know if your floor had techs or aids? or do you provide total care? Also what size is your unit and how many beds are in your hospital?
  3. This might come off wrong, but what is so great about DE?
  4. You said that you stood motionless for hours before you fainted. I know that locking your legs while standing cause you to faint. I seen it happen to the so many people in boot camp, locking your legs decrease venous return to the heart there for reduces blood to the brain. Now I just came up with that and I can't say that I am 100% sure, but I think that's what happens. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  5. Nailed the ICU internship!!! Apparently I was the only candidate interviewing. I guess going in face to face with a nurse recruiter is much better then applying online....
  6. Wow! that's really rough. I really think that you should re think your job, especially if you are performing nursing duties. Ask your self a few question like, are you insured, does the company insure you if something happens. What is your job descriptions? etc. It sounds like your being exploited for your degree. It's a marketing strategy to get people in. If you decide to keep it, I hope that you will find something better soon. I was able to work out yesterday and will be heading to the gym in about an hour. As for diet, I believe that if you burn enough calorie you can eat an ice cream bar or a cookie.
  7. Lol you will enjoy Nursing school, I notice that other classes had clicks, and groups. I'm glad that my class didn't have that problem. Let me know if you need an help with anything.
  8. Medium for blues. I'm also a guy, I assume your not, so whites would not work for you.
  9. I was 4/5 this week. I prefer working out Mon-Fri. I did start my weight training and running. I must admit my body is still aching, especially form the squats and hamstring exercises. I got my interview tomorrow and one on Thursday. Wish me luck guys. Also good luck this week, lets keep up the hard work...
  10. Good luck guys! Let me know if you have any questions or need some help. I also have some uniforms that I don't use.
  11. Thanks, but the two hospital are completely different organizations.
  12. Wow thank you so much, I didn't know all that. I have an interview this next week for an ICU job. I really enjoy ICU, but I'm also afraid of working in terrible environment since I am a new grad. I guess as a new grad we need all the support we can get.
  13. I started at a LTC while I was hunting for a hospital job. Usually LTC starts of much more then hospitals. My friends that are new grads got 27.50 start off. She makes 30/hr with diff. This is in the St. Augustine area.
  14. I have a ICU and Med Surg interview next week. I was wondering if you guys can give me some advice. I do fairly well with interviews, never really get nervous about it. I had several offers in different position but I have been holding out for this ICU job. Should I tell the DON that I have other offers but that I decided this is what I wanted to do and that ICU is my passion, or would that come off to forward.
