SJRCC?
I believe FCCJ accepts about 140 students every semester. They require College Algebra and Chemistry as well. The way I understand the new "system" for SJRCC is that they weren't looking at points first. I believe first they looked at your GPA for pre-req classes, then scores of your NET/HESI exam, and lastly your number of points. Anyway...don't give up!!!

SJRCC?
Keep on going....don't GIVE UP!!! That is my advice for you....do whatever it takes and you will succeed!!! I don't know why they chose some people over others, I think it was very close for you...you are obviously determined and this is what you want. If you didn't have so much passion for nursing, you wouldn't be so upset. I have been working on my pre-reqs for 4 years, I have been hospitalized 4 times and I had to stick it out, life can be difficult...but don't give up! Take Int. Algebra and Professions of Caring (that is 5 more pts)this semester, and next semester, if you need to, take Intro to Chem (12 pts) and maybe even College Alg, if you can (16 pts)...work your butt off and reapply until you get accepted...you can do it!!! Good Luck!!! :wink2: You will be a Registered Nurse...soon!!!

SJRCC?
Thanks...the anxiety is starting to kick in so I was just wondering!!! That is earlier then I thought though, the lady at the front desk in the Nursing Dept in Palatka said it could be mid November. I have a lot of those things already done because I am a LPN...Just can't wait to find out one way or the other!!

SJRCC?
I applied for the RN that starts in January at SJRCC. I put my application in on the first day we were able to. How long did it take SJRCC to notify you that you were accepted into the program? It has already been over a month... Congratulations on your graduation and good luck on the NCLEX!!

SJRCC Summer 2009 applicants
I didn't sign up for the Professions of Caring class, it was already full by the time I looked it up....plus I think a little break will be nice. I have been working hard through these science classes for three semesters straight now!!! If I don't get in the Spring 2010, I will take that class and another...anything to help me stay competitive!! You have some great NET scores and a great amount of points....hopefully we will meet and disclose our true identity when we are both accepted, I have HIGH hopes for the both of us!!! :wink2:

SJRCC Summer 2009 applicants
With the new points system, I have 139 points, a 3.92 GPA and my NET scores... Composite 82%, 73% on the Reading. I feel pretty good about everything but you never know for sure!! They have the new "Category Section" which puts me in Category One, the last thing they look at now are your total points...GPA and NET test (or HESI) scores first. And about all the negative talk about SJRCC....I went to FCCJ to get my LPN and they don't care about their students at all.... I had one teacher brag about the number of students who had failed his class... If you aren't there to see your students be successful....GET OUT!!! Anyway, I love the caring, compassionate nature of the teachers at SJRCC. No matter where you go this is a very competetive field, and you have to be willing to dedicate yourself 110%, work your booty off and not give up if you want to be successful!!! Good Luck to everyone!!
