Sigma Theta Tau International membership

Nursing Students General Students

Updated:   Published

So I just got invited and joined Sigma Theta Tau International. I don't get what the difference is for each chapters. I got invitation from Phi Pi Chapter from Chamberlain College of Nursing. I hate fraternity/sorority system so I don't really know what these chapters and stuff mean. Anyone care to explain? I was once invited to join something similar when I was taking prereqs for nursing school in community college, but I decided I didn't need that. Well, since I'm still struggling to find a job in hospital, I figured BSN and Sigma Theta Tau International might be a nice addition to my resume.

How do I put this info in my resume? Do I just state I'm a member of Sigma Theta Tau International? Or does Sigma Theta Tau International offer membership number so I need to wait to get that info before I add this to my resume? Thanks

Proud past member Sigma. I always listed it on my resume under Professional Memberships. It was right there with ANA and APIC.

I relinquished my membership a few years after I retired.

As I prev said, I always wore my Sigma key with my nsg school pins.

Wow, this took an unexpected turn ?

I just enjoyed how much time that person put into all their posts.

Never know when these sleeper threads will hide an unexpected gem or two, like the mystery member.

The very definition of the word "pendantic".
